Fort Worth Senior Care Company Will Walk to Support the Alzheimer’s Association

In line with its mission to change the way the world ages, Home Care Assistance Fort Worth created Team Memory Movers to participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s with the goal of raising awareness around Alzheimer’s care and prevention.

Fort Worth, TX (PRWEB) September 17, 2013 - Home Care Assistance Fort Worth, a premier provider of in-home care, is proud to share that the office has formed a team, the Memory Movers, to participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, October 12th, at Meadowmere Park in Grapevine. Home Care Assistance Fort Worth aims to be a positive contributor to the communities it serves through various social responsibility and public education initiatives. Fulfilling this role, Home Care Assistance Fort Worth hopes local community members will join in the effort to raise awareness around Alzheimer’s care and prevention by walking. For those interested in participating, register online at http://www.alz.org/northcentraltexas/.

“Since we opened two years ago, we have been involved in many community awareness events,” said Ali Young, President of Home Care Assistance Fort Worth. “This is our first time participating as a team in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s and we are very much looking forward to it. “Aligned with our mission to change the way the world ages, we are committed to supporting foundations like the Alzheimer’s Association that share our vision around health and longevity in aging, wellness and quality of life. We plan to grow our team every year, making an even greater impact in the future.”

Designed not only as a fundraiser, the Walk to End Alzheimer’s also serves as an education platform on Alzheimer’s in the Northeast Tarrant community. The Fort Worth Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association will be at the event to provide information about Alzheimer’s disease, ways to support programs and services, as well as opportunities to get involved with the cause through advocacy initiatives and clinical trial enrollment.

Home Care Assistance has recently expanded its expertise in quality dementia care with the launch of The Dementia Therapeutics Method™, an activity-based cognitive intervention program, designed to delay the onset of new symptoms and the progression of existing symptoms in individuals with mild to moderate dementia. This program is one of a growing list of offerings in Home Care Assistance’s dementia care suite of services, which includes specialized caregiver trainings through Home Care Assistance University and various printed resources and public webinars. The fifth book in the company’s award-winning, healthy longevity book series, Mind Over Grey Matter: A New Approach to Dementia Care, received overwhelming praise for its accessible approach to family caregivers and the general public as well as the evidence-based techniques to improve the quality of life of men and women living with dementia.
