"Quality Rated" Discovery Point Child Development Centers Officially in Program

November 01, 2013 // Franchising.com // ATLANTA, Ga – Discovery Point Child Care Centers are pleased to announce that 14 centers are officially Quality Rated with many more in the process. Quality Rated has committed to improve and designate levels of quality in child care facilities.

Any child care program participating in Quality Rated has agreed to meet standards that exceed Georgia’s licensing requirements and is committed to improving the quality of care. After the rigorous application process has been completed, stars are awarded based on independent observations and after reviewing a portfolio that confirms the program meets standards above and beyond the requirements.

After meeting its first year goal of 700 child care programs, Quality Rated has an impressive 1,500 programs currently enrolled and counting. As of July 2013, families are now able to verify if a provider is voluntarily agreeing to meet higher standards by participating in Quality Rated and to see the quality rating they have achieved by visiting the Bright from the Start website at www.decal.ga.gov.

Diane Clarke, late co-founder and Vice President of Discovery Point Franchising, an early adopter of Quality Rated stated, "Quality is the basis on which our Discovery Point Centers were founded. When you visit our centers, you will notice quality in building and equipment, in personnel, in pride of ownership, and in training and education of staff. We are honored to work with DECAL (Department of Early Care and Learning) in this partnership to launch the Quality Rated program in the state of Georgia. We know how beneficial it will be to have that dedicated support from DECAL as the centers work through the QR initiatives. We have pledged to devote time and energies to assist DECAL in making this program strong."
