Così Launches Test of New Menu Crafted by Noted Chef Michael Foley in Three of its Philadelphia Locations

Deerfield, IL - November 5, 2013 - Così Inc. (NASDAQ: COSI), the fast casual restaurant chain with more than 120 restaurants in 16 states, the District of Columbia, Costa Rica and the United Arab Emirates, is testing a new menu in three Philadelphia locations. Michael Foley, Così's Vice President of Brand Strategy and Innovation, served as primary architect of the new menu. Mr. Foley joined the Così team in October 2012 after a long history of culinary achievements. He is a past, early winner of the James Beard Award and was named one of America's Top Chefs by Food & Wine magazine.

"Così is known for its hearth-baked flatbread, prepared fresh every 30 minutes in each one of our restaurants," said Foley. "My challenge was to develop a new lineup of sandwiches worthy of being served on our fantastic one-of-a-kind flatbread."

New sandwiches on the menu include the Salmon Mexicali (red peppers, corn & black bean relish, cilantro, field greens and chipotle ranch dressing ), Farmhouse Beef (caramelized onions, field greens and Worcestershire mayo with Così light balsamic vinaigrette) and the Adobo (spicy chicken topped with fresh avocado, pico de gallo, cilantro, shredded lettuce and a touch of lime).

"Michael has crafted a creative selection of sandwiches and salads that are flavor-rich and showcase the level of creativity consumers expect from Così," said Stephen Edwards, Così's CEO & President. "We are excited to bring these new items to the people of Philadelphia."

The new sandwich and salad lineup will launch at three Così locations in Center City Philadelphia on Thursday, November 7th. Locations include 235 South 15th St, 325 Chestnut St., and 1128 Walnut St.

Members of the press (local Philadelphia media, food bloggers, Philadelphia lifestyle writers/bloggers, etc.) are invited, by appointment only, for a sneak preview of the new sandwich menu. Press and writers/bloggers should contact Marc Lapides, Director of Marketing, to arrange a time.
