November 25, 2013 // Franchising.com // Ft. Lauderdale, FL - From the very first franchise in 1987 to over 180 franchise locations and 4,100 Vacation Consultants in 2013, Expedia® CruiseShipCenters® celebrated their continued success with the help of the company’s preferred travel partners during their 2013 National Conference aboard Royal Caribbean International’s® Allure of the Seas®. The conference theme, "Navigators of Spectacular Vacation Experiences," was reflected in all of the presentations, workshops and events that were attended by over 500 Franchise Partners, Vacation Consultants, Suppliers and industry executives onboard the 7 day cruise.
Highlights from the conference included a keynote presented by Vicki Freed, Senior Vice President of Sales for Royal Caribbean International and Dondra Ritzenthaler, Senior Vice President of Sales for Celebrity Cruises. The theme of the presentation was "Modern Family" inspired by the hit TV show. The presentation likened Royal Caribbean’s modern family of brands (Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises) to the three unique families on the featured on the show. The duo comically described how the three lines have changed to offer innovative options for the modern foodie seeking delectable cuisine, the modern adventurer searching for incredible onboard experiences, and the modern explorer looking for interesting ports and excursions.
"We are so excited to be hosting Expedia CruiseShipCenters’ 2013 National Conference aboard Allure of the Seas," said Freed. "It is so important to come together each year and refocus on the values of your sales organization and the ways that you can consistently deliver for each and every client. This conference enables Expedia CruiseShipCenters to do that and is just one of the reasons they are one of our most valued travel partners," she added.
Other esteemed industry professionals who were part of this year’s agenda included Andy Stuart, Executive Vice President, Sales and Passenger Services for Norwegian Cruise Line and Brian O’Connor, Vice President, Sales for Princess Cruises and Cunard Line. With river cruise panels, sales skills workshops and business planning seminars, all of the conference content was designed to help attendees increase sales and achieve their business goals in 2014.
"We are overjoyed to have such inspirational speakers at Expedia CruiseShipCenters 21st Annual National Conference," said Matthew Eichhorst, President of Expedia CruiseShipCenters. "Our Preferred Suppliers offer informative product knowledge and sales tips that help our Franchise Partners and Vacation Consultants to match the right cruise to the right customer. It’s that knowledge paired with our passion for customer service that allows us to navigate spectacular vacation experiences for our clients."
