Buffalo Wild Wings Welcomes Michigan Wolverines and Kansas State Wildcats to 2013 Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl at Sun Devil Stadium

25th Anniversary of College Bowl Game in Tempe Showcases Buffalo Wild Wings’ Passion for Wings, Football and "Tablegating" Fan Experience

MINNEAPOLIS - December 10, 2013 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Fueled by its passion for wings, football and "tablegating," Buffalo Wild Wings heartily welcomes the Big Ten’s Michigan Wolverines and the Big 12’s Kansas State Wildcats to the 2013 Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl. The first-ever matchup between Michigan and Kansas State kicks off at 8:15 p.m. MST on Saturday, Dec. 28 in Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Ariz. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN, WatchESPN and ESPNRadio.

This year marks Buffalo Wild Wings’ second year as title sponsor and the 25th anniversary of the bowl game. The 2013 matchup in the desert is destined to be a hard-fought game, with the Wolverines and Wildcats both ending the regular season with a 7-5 record. In 2013, Michigan was consistently ranked in top polls, climbing as high as 11th and 12th. Meanwhile, Kansas State finished the regular season winning five of its last six games. Both teams have passionate and devoted fan bases that should combine for a memorable Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl.

Fans can satiate their hunger for wings at Buffalo Wild Wings’ pre-game party, dubbed "Tablegate", which will feature their award-winning wings, Blazin’® Challenge wing eating competitions and a performance by multi-platinum band Smash Mouth.

"We know many of our Guests love college football, so what better way to bring Buffalo Wild Wings to them than through a college bowl game," said Bob Ruhland, vice president of marketing for Buffalo Wild Wings. "The Tablegate provides a tremendous opportunity for fans to directly experience our brand, including our flavorful wings, which will enhance the game for thousands of fans participating in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl activities."

Like last year, Buffalo Wild Wings will have significant brand presence inside and outside Sun Devil Stadium. And the winner of the 2013 Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl will take home a newly designed Buffalo Wild Wings trophy that will be unveiled during the Tablegate.

Pre-Game Festivities

Prior to kickoff on Saturday, Dec. 28, pregame celebrations will begin at 11 a.m. with the Fort McDowell Fiesta Bowl Parade in central Phoenix, complete with the Buffalo Wild Wings parade unit led by local Boys & Girls Clubs youth and Buffalo Wild Wings mascot Blazin’ Bill.

Following the parade, the pre-game celebration kicks off for Big Ten and Big 12 fans with a massive pre-game Tablegate party (4:30 -7:30 p.m.) outside the stadium. Fans who purchase Tablegate tickets will get the opportunity to enjoy a great Buffalo Wild Wings food experience featuring their signature wings, icy cold beverages, and can participate in Blazin’® Challenges with Buffalo Wild Wings’ screamin’®hot Blazin’ wings. They’ll also enjoy performances by the university marching bands, a concert by multi-platinum recording artists Smash Mouth, and can snap photos with the newly-designed Bowl trophy.

Teaming Up for Kids at the Bowl and Beyond

The Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl marks the culmination of the company’s first year of its Team Up for Kids™ initiative, a philanthropic effort to support youth sports in underserved communities. Through a partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA), Buffalo Wild Wings is creating and enhancing flag and tackle football and cheerleading programs through All Stars grants that increase opportunities for kids to participate in team sports at Clubs across the country.

To commemorate this partnership, nearly 500 kids from Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley (BGCEV) will attend the Bowl and partake in official festivities on and off the field.

"We believe every child is a champion, and that we can make a difference by helping kids learn skills like teamwork, sportsmanship and self-esteem that will help them succeed in life," said Mary Twinem, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Buffalo Wild Wings and leader of the Team Up for Kids initiative. "Our hope is that fans at the Bowl will experience our passion for the game and youth sports, and they will join our efforts in supporting team sports at Boys & Girls Clubs in Arizona and across the country through Team Up for Kids."

In 2013, Buffalo Wild Wings expects to donate and raise over $1 million for BGCA through a variety of promotions including donations from sauce and seasoning bottle sales and numerous in-restaurant fundraising activities, supporting 760 teams and 6,500 kids.

Buffalo Wild Wings will also execute fundraising events in conjunction with the Bowl to benefit local Clubs. On Dec. 28, all Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants in the Phoenix/Tempe area will host an "Eat Wings, Raise Funds" day, donating a portion of their sales to local area Boys & Girls Clubs. Kids in one of the bowl teams’ home markets will win as well when a Wolverine fan and a Wildcat fan compete during the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl half-time to earn a $10,000 donation on behalf of Buffalo Wild Wings to the Boys & Girls Club in their school’s community.

Buffalo Wild Wings expects to donate and raise more than $1 million in 2014 to help 10,000 kids through the All Stars grant program.
