Signarama Completes International Rebranding Initiative for Thermo Fisher Scientific

Local Signarama Locations Provide Services Worldwide While Rebranding Effort Coordinated Through Signarama in Framingham, Mass.

February 21, 2014 // Franchising.com // Framingham, Mass. – Signarama, the world's largest sign franchise, completed a worldwide rebranding initiative on Feb. 12, 2014 for Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. (NYSE: TMO), a world leader in serving science, with revenues of $17 billion and 50,000 employees in 50 countries. The rebranding initiative involved nearly 50 Thermo Fisher facilities in 16 countries and 32 Signarama sign shops.

Signarama is the world's largest sign franchise. The business provides comprehensive sign and graphic services to consumers and commercial customers—from digital, neon, LED and pylon signs to vehicle wraps, banners and monument signs.

Thermo Fisher Scientific has relied on Signarama for 8 years as their sign partner to rebrand the companies they acquire. Thermo Fisher Scientific considers displaying their logo throughout the new facilities from day one to be a critical part of its branding strategy in order to achieve a successful transition for the newly acquired company. Signarama's worldwide footprint matches well with Thermo Fisher Scientifics' global acquisitions. By having a local Signarama in each country, they are able to satisfy all of the local signage needs.

The entire project was coordinated and managed by a single Signarama contact located near the Thermo Fisher Scientific's headquarters in Waltham, Mass. This single point of contact helped with communication and to ensure brand compliance and deadlines were consistently met. No other company in the world has the capability to satisfy these global needs the way in which Signarama demonstrated it can.

"The scope of this project was immense and complicated," said Jeff Newman, owner of the Signarama in Framingham, Mass., who was the managing owner of this project. "The 32 Signarama locations in 16 countries were able to work with 50 different Life Technologies offices, soon to become Thermo Fisher Scientific offices, to identify, design, fabricate and install hundreds of signs, from large freestanding signs, to illuminated wall signs, to truck lettering, to interior logo mats, with the new Thermo Fisher Scientific branding in a very short period of time. On the day the acquisition became official, all 32 Signaramas were onsite around the world installing the new signage in order to give each office their new identity and begin the transition to Thermo Fisher Scientific on day one."

The rebranding of Thermo Fisher comes in light of Signarama's own recent rebranding efforts. The 900 location company is currently involved in a brand update itself that is taking place is waves in regions across the country.
