STAMFORD, Conn. - March 19, 2014 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE:HOT) today announced that its game-changing Aloft® brand will soon debut in Syracuse, New York. Aloft Syracuse Inner Harbor will be a key component of a massive waterfront redevelopment project along the former Barge Canal. Owned and developed by COR Development Company, LLC, and managed by Real Hospitality Group, the new Aloft hotel is slated to open in June 2016, featuring 132 spacious, loft-like rooms, forward-thinking technology and a vibrant, social atmosphere.
"Aloft is a terrific match for this exciting waterfront revitalization project and is poised to emerge as a hotspot among savvy travelers and young professionals who appreciate Aloft's urban design aesthetic, intuitive technologies and live music offerings at the W XYZ® bar," said Brian McGuinness, Senior Vice President, Specialty Select Brands for Starwood. Aloft Syracuse Inner Harbor will also be a short stroll to Destiny USA, a major shopping and entertainment complex, and convenient to NBT Bank Stadium, Syracuse University, SUNY Upstate Medical University and several leading hospitals. Hotel facilities will include the Aloft brand's signature W XYZ® bar, Splash pool, 24-hour fitness center and 690 square feet of flexible meeting space, ideal for both business meetings and social gatherings.
