Former Department of Justice attorney joins Nixon Peabody's Government Investigations & White Collar Defense Team

July 17, 2014 // Franchising.com // Providence, RI - Former Assistant United States Attorney Charles A. Tamuleviz, a litigator with 25+ years of experience, has joined Nixon Peabody's Government Investigations & White Collar Defense practice as counsel in the firm's Providence office. Chuck, who spent 14 years with the Department of Justice, counsels clients in federal and state grand jury investigations involving allegations of public corruption, mail and wire fraud, income tax fraud, health care fraud, bank fraud, and investment fraud, as well as complex civil disputes.

During his time in the U.S. Attorney's Office in Providence and the Department of Justice in Washington, DC, Chuck oversaw grand jury investigations and prosecuted white collar crime and corruption cases. He served as an instructor for the U.S. Department of Justice Advocacy Institute. Charles also was a liaison attorney for the Gulf Coast Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force.

He's an experienced trial attorney who is well-versed in protecting his clients' businesses and reputations at the state and federal levels," said David Vicinanzo, leader of Nixon Peabody's Government Investigations & White Collar Defense practice. Chuck is the latest former government attorney to join Nixon Peabody. Other recent hires include former Middlesex County, MA district attorney Gerry Leone; former assistant U.S. attorney Brian Kelly; and Bradley Mirkin, former senior litigation counsel at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).

Chuck was previously a partner with DarrowEverett LLP in Providence. Chuck earned his JD, cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School and his BA from the College of the Holy Cross. He is admitted to practice in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, as well as the U.S. district courts in both states.
