DALLAS, TX - (Marketwired - Jul 30, 2014) - A large pepperoni pizza will soon cost less than a fast food burger or sub sandwich. Starting Monday, Pizza Patrón, the nation's leading Mexican pizza chain, will roll out $3.99 large pepperoni pizzas every Monday thru Wednesday for a limited time.
Company officials say the lower-than-low price is designed to grab attention and drive new traffic to the stores during the particularly challenging summer season in the pizza business.
The Pizza Patrón promo is available to customers every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for 9 weeks from August 4th thru October 1st. It's good only on carry out pizzas, with no limit on purchases. All Pizza Patrón locations in the U.S. will offer the promo. A large, one-topping pizza from Pizza Patrón typically costs around $6.
"We believe this is the strongest offer of the year in the pizza industry," says Andrew Gamm, brand director for Pizza Patrón. "In this economy, we have seen that customers don't mind picking up the pizzas when they are getting such great value in return."
The promotion received very strong customer response during market testing and the company hopes to see similar numbers for the rollout. "A price-based promotion like this gives people a reason to try the brand out with very little risk," says Gamm. "And, because the deal is less than five bucks, we know that it will show up on customers' deal radar."
Pizza Patrón hopes guests will purchase multiple pizzas plus sides and beverages. "That's when $3.99 becomes $10 or $12, and the restaurant owners win," says Gamm.
Gamm also stated that as part of its new efforts to grow the brand, Pizza Patrón Inc. will entertain licensing agreements with companies who have access to special outlets like national grocery chains, major food services corporations, airport locations, college and university campuses and hospitals.
