Lawyers of Color Recognizes Nixon Peabody Attorneys

August 01, 2014 // Franchising.com // Boston, MA - We are pleased that Leah Threatte Bojnowski and Jaya Velamakanni have been selected by Lawyers of Color as part of its second annual Hot List in the Eastern and Mid-Atlantic regions, respectively. Ms. Threatte Bojnowski is an Albany, NY–based Commercial Litigation associate and Ms. Velamakanni is a member of the firm's Tax Credit Finance & Syndication practice based in our Washington, DC, office.

The Lawyers of Color selection committee reviewed nominations from mentors, peers and colleagues, and researched bar publications and legal blogs in order to identify candidates. Honorees were also selected based on noteworthy accomplishments and through participation in legal industry activities.

Lawyers of Color, founded in 2008 as a news and resource center, is recognized by the American Bar Association, the National Black Law Students Association, and the National Association of Black Journalists.
