Taco John's Adds Kick to Breakfast Menu

August 06, 2014 - Taco John's®, a pioneer of Mexican-inspired breakfast, is spicing up its morning menu. The quick service restaurant has added the Spicy Chorizo Breakfast Burrito to its menu.

"If you're hungry for breakfast with a kick, the Spicy Chorizo Breakfast Burrito is for you," says Bob Karisny, Vice President for Menu Strategy and Innovation at Taco John's®. "People want spicy foods at all times of the day, so we created a breakfast item containing plenty of it."

The Spicy Chorizo Breakfast Burrito combines scrambled eggs with savory chorizo sausage, fiery jalapeños and spicy salsa. In its recent culinary trends report, ConAgra found that the number of Mexican and Southwestern inspired menu items has grown 20% and 24% respectively since the same quarter last year.

"We've looked at these trends. We know what our competitors are putting on their menus. We think we are offering flavors that are truly original," says Karisny. "As long as we continue to serve great-tasting breakfast menu items, more and more people will come to know Taco John's® as the only place they can get these flavors in the morning."

Breakfast is already the fastest-growing daypart at Taco John's®. On September 18, it will attract even more attention when the restaurant chain hosts a free breakfast day. Guests will be able to order one free Meat & Potato Breakfast Burrito with a choice of sausage or bacon.
