Boston's Restaurant & Sports Bar Kicks off Renewed Franchise Development with a Five-Unit Deal

National Casual Dining Brand Reignites Franchise Efforts

DALLAS - August 25, 2014 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Unlimited growth potential is in the air, or at least that seems to be the case for Boston's Restaurant & Sports Bar (Boston's), the casual-plus dining concept that combines a family-friendly restaurant and separate sports bar under one roof. The brand has recently announced the re-launch of its franchise within the states, starting with the signing of a five-unit deal.

Almost immediately upon deciding that the brand was ready to re-franchise, Boston's signed a deal for five units in the Baltimore area with new franchise partner, Dr. Keith Asante. The restaurants will open throughout the city of Baltimore, Baltimore County and Hartford County, the first two located in Bel Air and White Marsh.

Born and raised in Ghana, Dr. Asante was the CEO and President for an IT company in the Baltimore area for more than 10 years. He is also a Professor at the University of Maryland System. Previously a part-time chef in the Army, Dr. Asante has always had a passion for food. After researching Boston's and visiting the other Maryland Boston's restaurant, Dr. Asante found two reliable partners to join his endeavor and they decided to sign for the five restaurants together. The two partners will run the day-to-day operations at the first two restaurants, while Dr. Asante will oversee all of the locations on a broader scale.

"After realizing the unquestionable success of Boston's in Canada, and the fact that the brand presence throughout the country is undeniable, it instantly became clear to me that the company has a solid, proven business model," said Dr. Asante. Boston's took a step back and re-evaluated the business model earlier this year, improving the successful locations, coming up with a solid growth plan for the future and hiring a new, highly-skilled management team to handle franchise development. With the common goal to grow the business as much and as efficiently as possible, the new franchise development team hopes to grow to 63 restaurants in the U.S. by 2018.
