Showhomes Veteran Takes on Record 3rd Market for Home Staging Service Franchise

September 25, 2014 // Franchising.com // Nashville Purchase Signing 2014 In addition to his Memphis and Little Rock locations, Jeff Ross, and his wife, Heidi, 11 year veterans with Showhomes, have purchased the Nashville location from Showhomes CEO, Bert Lyles and have become the first franchisees to purchase 3 territories.

After earning his bachelor's degree in Marketing from Oral Roberts University, Jeff relocated to Mobile, Alabama and took on different positions gaining experience to his profile. Finding a career as an Insurance Adjuster with companies such as, Southeastern Claims Service, CnC Resource and Inspection Services of America, Jeff began traveling throughout the nation working natural catastrophes.

Looking to relocate and spend more time with his family, Jeff and his wife, Heidi decided they would move closer to family in Little Rock, Arkansas. After putting their home on the market, their home sold faster than they'd expected, leaving them in need of a place to live. Jeff discovered the home manager program Showhomes, which provided his family with a quick living solution and introduced him to a new business opportunity.

Traveling back and forth from Little Rock to Memphis it became clear to them for the success they saw in Memphis. With the Little Rock franchise doing well and traveling to Memphis so often to ensure their success, Heidi and Jeff decided to relocate their family to Memphis in 2012.

After six years of operating their second franchise in Memphis successfully, the Ross' decided it was time to grow again. Looking to grow and continue their success, Jeff began looking at other franchise opportunities. After speaking with Matt Kelton, COO,he realized Showhomes was about creating continued opportunities for franchisees who have excelled. When Matt mentioned that the Nashville location had become available for purchase, Jeff and Heidi jumped at the opportunity. Now in their eleventh year as franchisees, the Ross' purchased their third franchise location in September of 2014.

The Ross' children have grown up in Showhomes. Their daughter Bailee, 15, and son, Parker, 13, both say they enjoy the adventure of living in Showhomes. Over the past eleven year, the family has occupied seventeen Showhomes in three different states, and they continue to enjoy the lifestyle by living in a Showhome today.

How did you find out about the brand?

I read an advertisement for “short term rental” in the Mobile, Alabama newspaper. Since relocating to Little Rock, Arkansas was imminent, we did not want to commit to a long term lease in Mobile, Alabama. The month-to-month rental situation was perfect because we were able to accept the buyers offer on our house and move into a nice home without any concern of being trapped in a long term lease while we were in transition. We contacted the number on the ad to learn more. The Showhomes representative explained the unique opportunity, and we began the qualifying process to become home managers.

Why did you want to work with the brand?

Before we found Showhomes, Heidi was a nurse and I was insurance adjuster. Our career paths were not in fields that we felt passionate about so we began searching for a business that we could feel a greater sense of ownership and fulfillment.
