Caribou Coffee Partners with The Food Group to Donate Highly Requested Food Shelf Item

Partnership Provides Two Simple Ways for Guests to Give Back

MINNEAPOLIS - November 10, 2014 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Many could use a little extra boost this time of year and that’s why coffee is one of the most requested items at food shelves. To address this need, Caribou Coffee is encouraging guests to join them in donating coffee to The Food Group this holiday season.

"We are always grateful for food donations around the holidays. There is a shortage of coffee in food shelves and food banks and we’re thrilled to partner with Caribou Coffee to ensure shelves are stocked with coffee this season"

Guests can donate Reindeer Blend coffee at their local Caribou Coffee to be distributed to The Food Group, formerly known as Emergency Foodshelf Network. In addition, for each holiday story completed on www.CaribouCoffeeStories.com the company will donate one pound of coffee to The Food Group to support those in Minnesota who need a little help this holiday season.

Caribou Coffee locations across Minnesota will be partnering with The Food Group, a full-service food bank with more than 200 hunger relief partners statewide. "We are always grateful for food donations around the holidays. There is a shortage of coffee in food shelves and food banks and we’re thrilled to partner with Caribou Coffee to ensure shelves are stocked with coffee this season," said Lori Kratchmer, executive director at The Food Group.

"Throughout the year we strive to address food scarcity through our food donation program in-stores and now with the holiday season at hand we are focusing our attention on one of the most requested food shelf items: coffee," said Megan Fraboni, public relations manager at Caribou Coffee. "We hope our guests join us and give those in our communities who are facing food insecurities a boost this holiday season."

Caribou Coffee invites fans to help tell three holiday stories; the first line of which is printed on each size of the company’s holiday cups. Guests are encouraged to get creative by finishing a story, or take a break from their holiday to-do list and enjoy other people’s submissions. By visiting www.CaribouCoffeeStories.com guests can simply complete a holiday story and the company will donate one pound of coffee to The Food Group*.
