Cafe2U Celebrates Australia Day with Franchise Partners

The mobile coffee franchise invited its franchise partners on a cruise to celebrate the country's founding and encourage business growth in 2015.

Bend, OR (PRWEB) February 25, 2015 - In January 2015, Cafe2U decided to celebrate Australia Day, the country's founding celebration, with their franchise partners in order to kick off another year of business growth and development. The company held a Leadership Conference on the P & O Pacific Pearl, which sailed down parts of the coast, ending up back in Sydney Harbor in time for the Australia Day celebrations and fireworks. More than 65 franchise partners joined Cafe2U staff to discuss social media strategy, business growth and development.

Cafe2U was founded in Sydney, AU in 2000 and now has 160 franchise partners throughout the country, with another 15 in New Zealand, 2 in South Africa, four in the United States and 70 throughout the United Kingdom. The franchise comes with a brand new vehicle fitted out with state of the art commercial equipment and a territory which is scientifically mapped to ensure the area contains all of the necessary business demographics to allow the franchise partner to be as successful as they choose to be.

As well as award winning espresso based coffee, Cafe2U franchise partners also offer a range of hot and cold café style drinks, snacks and lunch style food – it truly is a Café on wheels. The average coffee van makes 25-30 stops a day between 7 AM and 1 PM Monday through Friday, and also attends various outdoor events on weekends, including concerts, sporting events, corporate events and markets.

The company says that this business model is highly beneficial, especially because the coffee vans have low start-up costs.

"The most attractive part is the low overhead cost because it's a mobile platform; you're not dealing with landlords and there are very few moving parts involved," said John Stanton, Cafe2U's General Manager. "But we also have the ability to be mobile, produce fantastic coffee, and attend just about any event, especially if it's occurring outdoors. Where there's a group of people who want great coffee, we'll be there."

Cafe2U says their franchise partners are a vital part of the company's efforts to foster and protect their brand. As a result, the company's managers provide a significant amount of one-on-one training and support whenever it is needed. The company also assists local and international franchises 24/7, a reassuring service for many.

The Australia Day cruise was an opportunity to reward their franchise partners for their hard work, as well as provide a valuable opportunity for networking. Over the course of three days, which ranged from January 24 to 27, the company noticed that many of the attendees broke off into small groups to discuss different aspects of running a small franchise, from supply issues to products to offer in the future.

"The best thing about our conferences and getting together over the years is that we all get to share ideas and hear about best practice," said Stanton. "You've got people who have just started in the business talking to someone who is experienced -- and those experienced people have gone through the same experiences as the beginners are going through. It is a great collaborative effort to improve and grow the company."

At the conference, Cafe2U also announced their 2014 Franchisee of the Year Award, which went to Damien Tyler, a franchise partner from Victoria, the continent's southeastern state. Tyler has worked in the industry for three years, during which he successfully grew his franchise and served as an example for the company as a whole. He has been awarded a two week trip to South Africa.

Now, the company is getting ready to accomplish their goals for 2015. Cafe2U is hoping to expand its presence in the U.S., while also branching out in Europe and Australia.

"We're really starting to display our international footprint and we're excited to be branching into the U.S.," said Stanton. "The conference was a chance to socialize, network, and have a good time. We wanted to make sure everyone felt rejuvenated and ready to get back into the business rhythm at the start of the new year. Our keynote speaker, Tim Martin, ran a fantastic session on Facebook and Instagram and how social media in general could benefit our franchise partners"
