Lynn Vanderburg Opens Local Caring Transitions Business

In an effort to ease the burden placed on seniors and their families in making tough decisions concerning relocation choices, de-cluttering a residence, downsizing a home, preserving family heirlooms and organizing estate sales or online auctions, Granbury entrepreneur Lynn Vanderburg has launched Caring Transitions of Granbury.

Fort Worth, TX (PRWEB) March 02, 2015 - Moving can be one of the most stressful events in a person’s life, especially when it involves seniors transitioning to a smaller home or residential facility. Regardless of if it is planned, or unexpected due to the loss of a loved one or because of illness, relocating or downsizing can be challenging.

In an effort to ease the burden placed on seniors and their families in making tough decisions concerning relocation choices, de-cluttering a residence, downsizing a home, preserving family heirlooms and organizing estate sales or online auctions, Granbury entrepreneur Lynn Vanderburg has launched Caring Transitions of Granbury, a business designed to help Tarrant, Hood, Parker, Johnson and Somervell counties as well as surrounding area families through the senior relocation process.

The Canadian Native is one of the newest of 150 Caring Transitions franchise owners located around the United States. After dealing with the transition of her own mother last year, Vanderburg saw the need for a business focused on respect and sensitivity of the psychological impact downsizing and relocation can have on you or your loved one.

"What do you do when you have Mom or Dad that live in a different city, state or country from you and they have reached that time in their life where they need some help? They know it’s time to move but they don’t know where they can move to, what to take, who can move them, who can pack them, what do they do with all the ‘stuff’ that isn’t coming with them, the house is in need of repairs before they can get it on the market, what realtor do they use, how much paperwork will they need to look at and how do they know all the different companies they are using are reputable? It just goes on and on," Vanderburg said.

"It can be so overwhelming and frustrating both for the person moving and for the loved one who doesn’t know where to start and can’t afford the extensive time required to accomplish the endless tasks. Caring Transitions of Granbury will exercise full transparency to the involved parties so they can feel safe in knowing that they or their loved one is getting the best care," she added.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and an Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy, it is obvious that Lynn enjoys working with people.

"I have worked in the Hospitals for years, both at the bedside and as an educator. My last eight years have been spent as a Clinical Educator, which meant constant travel around the Nation providing educational lectures for Healthcare clinicians. I wanted to come home and focus more on the community around me," Vanderburg said.

Vanderburg was a weekender in Granbury for many years before becoming a permanent resident in 2012. She said she wanted to take in that small town feel.

"Sunday would come and I wouldn’t want to leave. Now I don’t have to," said Vanderburg.

As a certified relocation transition specialist (CRTS), Vanderburg's job is to help reduce the stress and anxiety among families by providing expert guidance on all phases of transitioning. Caring Transitions of Granbury is a fully insured, bonded company.

"Our employees are held to the highest standards and maintain ongoing security and educational requirements. All of our employees are bonded, insured and thoroughly screened. There is a training program that each and every employee goes through to ensure they are performing in a professional and highly ethical manor," Vanderburg said.

"The first step for a client who is interested in Caring Transitions of Granbury’s services is to set up a free, no pressure, in-home consultation where we sit down and determine what you need. We can discuss where you will be moving and how much help you expect to receive from family and friends. After a plan is set in motion, then we go through and take some measurements to determine, what you want to take with you, and if it will fit in your new home," she said.

Vanderburg offers a space planning option that would place furniture onto the exact floor plan of your new home to scale so you know before you move what fits and what doesn’t fit. Caring Transitions also helps with de-cluttering, organizing, overseeing having items shipped to friends and family, and working with families to conduct estate sales and auctions of the remaining items.

"We are a one-stop shop – we pack, unpack and oversee the move. We even help the client make the transition into your new home easier by taking special care to set things up as to closely resemble your prior residence, for example making sure to put the cutlery in a drawer to the left of the dishwasher because that is where it was before. When you or your loved one moves into your new home it will look like you lived there for years, the bed will be made, the pictures hung on the walls and even the remote will be on the armrest of your favorite chair. There is a need for the service and I am excited to be the one that can offer it," Vanderburg said.
