McAlister’s Deli® Targeting Phoenix for Franchise Growth

Award-winning Fast Casual Concept Seeks Multi-unit Restaurant Operators to Expand Brand

March 23, 2015 // Franchising.com // Alpharetta, Ga. - McAlister’s Deli®, a leading fast casual chain, announced today it is targeting Phoenix for franchise growth. The brand is seeking experienced multi-unit restaurant operators to help expand McAlister’s presence in the market through multi-unit development agreements in areas such as Mesa, Tempe, Chandler, Gilbert, Glendale and Goodyear.

“The National Restaurant Association has predicted Phoenix will lead the country in restaurant sales growth this year and continue to be a hot spot for the next decade. Additionally, Arizona fosters an environment that encourages small business ownership,” said Jeff Sturgis, McAlister’s Vice President of Franchise Development. “With just two locations in the market - Phoenix and Peoria - McAlister’s has incredible opportunity to open several new restaurants and we look forward to connecting with local operators who want to help us grow our footprint.”

McAlister's experienced strong franchise growth in 2014, opening 19 new restaurants and expanding the brand to several new markets, including Columbus and Dayton, Ohio; Evansville, Ind.; Pooler, Ga.; and The Villages, Fla. In addition to Phoenix, McAlister’s is currently seeking qualified franchisees to expand the brand in states such as New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, Michigan, Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Florida and Georgia.

Technomic® has recognized McAlister’s twice in its Consumers’ Choice Awards for Chain Restaurants - in 2015 as top fast casual chain for pleasant, friendly service and in 2014 as the top kid-friendly fast casual chain. Franchise Business Review named McAlister’s one of its “Best Franchise Opportunities for 2015” in its Franchisee Satisfaction Awards, as well as a “Top Franchise” in 2014 based on franchisee satisfaction. In 2014, Nation’s Restaurant News named McAlister’s a Top Limited-Service Restaurant in the Sandwich category in its Consumer Picks Survey. Also in 2014, QSR Magazine recognized the brand as one of the “Best Franchise Deals” and named McAlister’s to its QSR 50 list, ranking 13th for U.S. average sales per unit in 2013. FastCasual.com also recognized the brand on its “Top 100 Movers and Shakers” list of 2014.
