Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt Partners With Kevin Durant To Reward Kids Who Make Their Communities Better

Orange Leaf To Provide Grants For Five Community Ideas Nationwide

OKLAHOMA CITY - Aug. 5, 2015 // PRNewswire // - Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt and Kevin Durant, 2014 NBA MVP and forward for the Oklahoma City Thunder, are challenging kids across the country to think of creative ways they can improve their own communities. Kids who take the challenge and pledge to make a difference this August will be rewarded with free frozen yogurt.

From August 5 through August 31, kids under the age of 18 can receive three free ounces of free frozen yogurt for sharing their ideas on how to make their community better. To get the offer, kids can either download the community activity sheet from Orange Leaf's website or pick one up at any of Orange Leaf's more than 300 participating locations. Once kids complete the sheet, they can bring it back to Orange Leaf to receive their three ounces of free froyo.

In September, Orange Leaf will bring five submitted ideas to life, by providing local franchisees throughout the country with $500 grants to support the community improvement effort.

Durant and Orange Leaf are kicking off the challenge with a video that launches today, showing Durant working with kids from an Oklahoma City YMCA on how to make a positive difference in their community. From that event, Durant and Orange Leaf chose to help realize one of the kid's ideas. Xander Osmus, age 11, said his community would be better if kids could be more active. On July 29, Orange Leaf and the Oklahoma City Downtown YMCA organized an energetic exercise session for more than 200 YMCA campers that taught them how fun exercise can be. The session included Zumba, an obstacle course and jumping rope.

"Working with kids to help them give back and support their local communities is extremely important to me," said Kevin Durant. "I'm proud to work with Orange Leaf on this program that rewards kids who share these values and am excited to see all the amazing ideas that kids will bring to this program.

"Orange Leaf strives to provide not only a fun and inviting place to gather within our stores, but we aim to make a positive impact outside of our stores, in each community where we operate," said Geoff Goodman, president of Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt. "By rewarding kids who pledge to make a difference in their communities and fulfilling some of those pledge ideas, we hope to give back to the families and communities that have supported our stores and filled them with laughter."

The Orange Leaf Community Challenge offer is valid August 5-31, 2015 and cannot be combined with any other offer. One coupon for three free ounces of froyo per person, per transaction. Offer valid only on 16 oz. cups. Good for in-store sales only. No cash value. Customer is responsible for any taxes. Toppings may vary by store and may be limited. See terms and conditions.
