Native Grill & Wings Dares Customers to Face the Ghost

October 19, 2015 // Franchising.com // GILBERT, AZ – Native Grill & Wings, an award winning Arizona restaurant chain known for its 20+ wing flavors that guests can order by the individual wing, introduces its Native Ghost Challenge social media campaign at all locations beginning October 18.

The challenge dares customers to try Native’s THE GHOST wing sauce, record their reaction via video or picture and share on Native’s social media platforms. Guests can share their act of heroism and enter to win a $50 Native gift card by using the #NativeGhostChallenge hashtag on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

“Our guests wanted spicy, so we gave them fire,” said Native Grill & Wings CEO, Dan Chaon. “Made with ghost peppers, we like to tell our guests that THE GHOST sauce will scare the heck out of them.”

Those brave enough to endure the heat have from Oct. 18-31 to participate in the challenge. Guests can come to any Native Grill & Wings location to try and take on the restaurant’s hottest sauce. Guests can try to disguise the flavor by having the options of Native Style Strippers, Boneless Wings or Traditional Wings, but there is no escaping the heat.

“We’ve seen grown men cry after trying it, and gladly offer a shot of milk to anyone that needs it,” Chaon said. “Those brave enough to try the sauce may be saying, ‘RIP taste buds’.”

The sauce is created from three of the hottest peppers: ghost peppers, habanero peppers, and tabasco peppers. Bhut Jolokia, also known as the ghost pepper, is the world’s hottest pepper with origins deriving from India. The pepper earned the nickname ghost pepper because of the way the heat sneaks up on its challenger.
