Pigtails & Crewcuts Opens Salon Incubator in Atlanta, Georgia

Space Will Operate As A Children’s Hair Care Business While Also Serving As A Training Facility

ATLANTA, GA (PRWEB) December 14, 2015 - The franchise office of Pigtails & Crewcuts, a children’s hair salon franchise dedicated to making haircuts fun and stress-free for young patrons and their parents, is opening its own Pigtails & Crewcuts salon in Buckhead, Georgia. The salon will operate as a traditional hair styling business serving children and families, while also serving as an incubator and training center to teach new training methods, research new hair products, work with new vendors, monitor trends, collect data and more.

The insights will benefit nearly 50 Pigtails & Crewcuts franchises across the country, says Wade Brannon, Pigtails & Crewcuts president and owner of the new salon. “Pigtails & Crewcuts got its start here in Atlanta, and now we have a chance to further the brand through this opportunity,” says Brannon. “By opening our own salon, we’ll be able to track data and deliver the latest education on what works in this industry.”

In the last year, the Pigtails & Crewcuts franchise has opened more than 10 new locations in the United States. With that growth comes responsibility, says Brannon. “The more we grow, the more we need to educate ourselves on the struggles our franchise owners are going through every day. By opening our own salon and training facility, we can provide better franchise support to our owners.”

The Buckhead salon, which previously operated as a franchise location, closed at the end of October. It’s undergone renovations and has reopened with its characteristic bright green, orange, red and blue walls, and chairs shaped like an airplane, taxi and fire truck. In addition to new salon equipment, the salon will carry new hair care products.

The salon will employ a manager and a team of stylists, and, in addition, three members of the franchise team will oversee business throughout the week, helping with birthday parties, speaking with customers, stocking retail items and more. Theresa Underwood, Pigtails & Crewcuts’ director of franchise support, who will also be working at the salon throughout the week, says that what she learns at the salon will help her better support franchise owners.

“Throughout the year, we travel around the country training our franchise owners on how to run their business. Now that we’ll be running our own, I’m excited to give insider advice on what works,” says Underwood.

Underwood says that for franchise owners, entering the world of children’s hair care is full of unexpected surprises. “Sure, we can tell people what it’s like to work with a 2-year-old who is crying or scared or dancing around laughing. But until someone experiences it first-hand, they have no idea. Now that we have our own salon, we’ll be able to give new and prospective owners a taste of what the day-to-day business is really like.”
