The new diagnostic tool will calculate the number of franchisee locations in a specific state, by franchise sector, brand and 3 year growth for total franchise systems, locations and individual franchise brands. In addition, the calculation includes franchisee terminations and ceased operations by total and individual brand. This calculation can be an indicator of the strength of a market and/or the health of the franchise systems in that market. For example, a total franchise category in one state with a 2% franchisee termination rate compared to another state with a 10% termination rate could indicate the relative strength and weakness of a market.
