Nation's Premier Senior Care Franchise Announces Specialized Training and Certification Program for In-Home Caregivers

BALTIMORE, Md. - May 10, 2016 // PRNewswire // - Senior Helpers®, one of the nation's premier provider of personalized in-home senior care, announced today the launch of its Parkinson's Care Program, a specialized training and certification program created in conjunction with leading experts from the National Parkinson Foundation's Center of Excellence. Senior Helpers' new program is the first of its kind in the in-home senior care industry, designed to provide caregivers with the expert training and education necessary to create personalized care plans for individuals living with Parkinson's disease.

The Parkinson's Care Program is the second disease management training program developed and implemented by Senior Helpers, and joins the company's Senior Gems® Alzheimer's and Dementia Training Program, which created the gold standard for excellence in personalized in-home senior care. Senior Helpers' new Parkinson's Care Program provides caregivers education on how Parkinson's disease advances and changes, and provides training to caregivers on how to handle the range of mobility and movement limitations those who live with Parkinson's disease experience. The training also provides education on specific motor and non-motor symptoms along with techniques and strategies for identifying and managing those symptoms. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (MJFF).
