California Tortilla Expands Menu to Feature Fresh Takes on Favorites, Flavors Customers Know and Love

New Menu Highlights Fan-Favorite Street Tacos, Unique Flavor Combinations

September 06, 2016 // Franchising.com // ROCKVILLE, MD - This month, California Tortilla is excited to roll out an expanded menu nationwide, featuring fresh takes on fan favorites and the unique flavor combinations customers have come to know and love. The fast casual restaurant chain enhances its offering with highlights including their perennially popular Street Tacos, a favorite that truly embodies what California Tortilla is all about: re-imagining Mexican cuisine by combining traditional elements with bold, unique flavors.

“Our sales and research have shown a trend towards lighter eating and more intense flavors, which explains why tacos are proliferating right now,” said Keith Goldman, COO and Executive Chef, California Tortilla. “Customers love options - and tacos are great for sampling two or three different flavors instead of just one.”

Goldman continued, “Limited-Time Offers featuring tacos have always been one of our top-performers - every time they came off the menu, our customers asked, when are they coming back? So, we listened.”

“This menu really highlights our re-imagined flavors, fresh ingredients, and bold and exciting combinations,” said Laura Cissel, VP Marketing, California Tortilla. “What’s more, tacos always generate a lot of excitement with our customers, something our sales, franchisee feedback and social media all reflect. We thought it was the perfect time to take all of that insight and roll out an expanded menu, offering a variety of new items and keeping the flavors customers know and love. “

Customers’ favorite limited-time offers, like Korean BBQ and Carnitas Verde tacos, now have a permanent place on the menu; rounding out the expanded taco menu are the Screamin’ and California Sunset tacos starring signature made-from-scratch sauces, and the ever-popular Blackened Fish Tacos. Tacos will be offered in both flour as well as corn tortillas, a more authentic - and gluten-free - option.

California Tortilla also adds two new quesadillas to their menu: Chicken, Bacon and Tomato and BBQ Chicken, a “secret” menu item for customers in the know.
