October 11, 2016 // Franchising.com // Leading greeting card publisher and franchisor, Card Connection has announced the launch and roll-out of its new iPad application, specifically developed for its network of 67 franchisees across the UK. The new software now enables franchisees to run their entire franchised business ‘on the move’ from an iPad. In addition, functionality has been included to help analyse sales, the ability to web order (through upgraded site) as well as backing-up all their data to the cloud.
“The new software represents a significant investment on behalf of our franchisees’ future and has been several years in development and testing,” confirms Michael Johnson, managing director, Card Connection. “We originally incorporated feedback from franchisees to see how we could help them further streamline their operations and then worked with our internal team and a specialist third party software developer to come up with a solution.
“The iPad has been piloted in our company owned territory of Plymouth to overcome all the usual teething problems and now has already been rolled out successfully to a number of Card Connection franchisees,” continues Johnson. “Our aim is that our whole franchised network will be on-line within a year.
“One of the neat functions of the iPad based software is that our greetings card brochures can be shown from the iPad,” explains Johnson. “This looks really professional when visiting new or existing retail accounts, introducing new ranges or the latest seasonal product lines. In addition, access to data has been improved and so franchisees now have the tools to analyse bestselling lines by outlet ‘on the spot’ and so greetings card displays can be tailored even more closely to match customers’ preferences.”
Johnson concludes: “Card Connection’s investment in this new and innovative technology underlines our continued commitment to supporting all our franchisees manage their individual businesses and help them optimise them for efficiency and sales success.”
Card Connection is part of UK Greetings, which is a subsidiary of American Greetings Inc., one of the largest greeting card publishers in the world and has limited vacancies for franchisees that are keen to run an expanding business. Since the franchise network in the UK is complete, the available opportunities now consist of acquiring an already-established territory from an existing franchisee. These vary in price according to their level of development, but start at £12,500 + Stock + Card Connection fee with earnings potential in excess of £50k per annum.
Territories currently available include: Fife, Edinburgh/Scottish Borders, Stirling, Brighton, Reading, Plymouth, Bath, Northampton, Liverpool, Macclesfield, South West Region Ireland.
