Staff Invents The Chickery’s Revolutionary and Outrageous New Menu Item

Rotisserie Fried Chicken is a chicken lover’s fantasy

November 01, 2016 // Franchising.com // Toronto, Canada – The Chickery, the Toronto-based better chicken concept featuring ‘real tasty’ chicken & sides, has introduced a new menu item that originated as an after-hours staff favorite. Team members would take fully brined and cooked rotisserie chickens and deep fry them in the restaurant’s signature batter. The result: a delicious combination of golden crunch on the outside and a tender, juicy inside.  

After weeks of refining by staff in the after-hours “test kitchen,” Rotisserie Fried Chicken (RFC) made an appearance as a “secret” menu item at all four Chickery restaurants. The doubly delicious dish quickly became the fastest growing new item and it is now being added to the menu board at all Chickery locations.

As Amjad Hantash, The Chickery’s Director of Operations, put it, “RFC has so much more flavor than regular fried chicken…It’s so good I even want to eat the bones!”

The fast casual “better chicken” segment has seen substantial growth over the past 2 years. The Chickery currently has three locations open throughout Toronto, ON and one U.S. location in Washington, D.C. The brand is expanding via a worldwide franchise program, and will be opening new locations in Guelph, ON; Dubai, UAE; and Northern California soon.
