Comfort Keepers Home Care Of Charlotte, North Carolina Grants Seniors’ Wishes

Local Home Care Agency Helps Area Seniors Achieve Their Dreams

(PRWEB) November 30, 2016 - Comfort Keepers Home Care of Charlotte, NC, a provider of in home care services for area families, has recently been recognized for contributing to the communities they serve through their popular initiative, A Senior’s Wish, which grants the wish of a lifetime to area seniors residing in Greater Charlotte, NC.

In August, Comfort Keepers launched A Senior’s Wish, an initiative established in conjunction with Comfort Keepers 15 year anniversary. A Senior’s Wish invited individuals throughout the Comfort Keepers seven county service area, to nominate a senior in their life to receive the wish of a lifetime, granted by Comfort Keepers.

“Helping members of the community is one of the primary reasons I became a franchisee for Comfort Keepers,” said owner Lori Eberly. “I’m just fortunate that I am able to give back to a community that has always supported my business. The nominations we have received have truly touched my heart and it is an honor to be able to make these wishes come true."

Comfort Keepers began granting wishes in early November. On Saturday November 12th, Tommy Little of Conover got to attend a performance of the Gaither Vocal Band and Comfort Keepers also arranged for Mr Little to meet Bill Gaither in person before the show. On Saturday November 19th, thanks to a 5 man team of volunteers from Glorieta Baptist Church in Concord, coordinated by the NC Baptist Aging Ministry, a ramp was constructed at the Kannapolis home of the Goodnight family. Mr. Dwight Goodnight is a Stroke survivor, their son Tod has early onset Parkinson’s Disease, and Mrs. Judy Goodnight is in her final days of her battle with cancer. This was such a special wish to grant and the Goodnight family was so grateful that the ramp was complete in time for Mrs Goodnight to see this wish be granted for her husband and son. Dwight and Judy’s children, Paris and Starla Goodnight, were also present to see the ramp constructed.

Comfort Keepers, in conjunction with Cannon Pharmacy, is also currently arranging delivery of a Lift Recliner to Ethelia Sigmon in Claremont.

Additional wishes that are still being reviewed include a trip to Golden Corral for a senior in Woodleaf who requires specialized transportation, a trip to Washington DC, a trip to a NC beach, a trip to Florida to see family, and a trip to Alaska. Comfort Keepers encourages and welcomes any community partners willing to contribute to making additional wishes come true to reach out directly to Lori Eberly at lorieberly@comfortkeepers.com.
