New Food Truck Brings Tropical Flavor to Local Community with Refreshing Hawaiian Shaved Ice and Ice Cream; Seeks Partnerships with Local Organizations for FUNdraising Events

Tikiz Shaved Ice & Ice Cream - a fast-growing mobile franchise specializing in Hawaiian shaved ice and ice cream - has partnered with Aurora, Colorado entrepreneur Renzo Silva-Romero to bring the Coolest Truck On Earth™ to the area. Delivering an inviting and entertaining experience to every destination, Renzo’s Tikiz truck is expected to be on the road by June, servicing Aurora, Denver and other nearby communities.

Whether Tikiz’s refreshing Hawaiian shaved ice or ice cream is enjoyed at a birthday party, school fundraiser or other community event, consumers can expect to be transported to the tropics. With steel drum music roaring, colorful neon lights dancing and water misters cooling off crowds on warm days, the food truck’s presence provides a vacation-like atmosphere.

Renzo was born in Lima-Peru where he studied Psychology. In 1999, he moved to the United States and for the past nine years he’s been working at Baxter Health Corporation in Englewood, Colorado. A year ago, when the company announced that they would be shutting down his location, he knew it was time to go into business for himself. He said, “The summer season brings a lot of local community events and celebrations to the area. I know there is a lot of competition, but I think the Tikiz self-serving style will stand out among the rest.”

Tikiz’s shaved ice and ice cream products are low-fat, gluten-free, contain no high-fructose corn syrup and are Smart Snack approved, per the guidelines set by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Fat-free and complete with a gumball at the bottom of each cup, the Hawaiian shaved ice can be enjoyed in any combination of 10 syrup flavors, including a sugar-free option. Ice cream rounds out the Tikiz’s menu with a wide range of ice cream bars and sandwiches.

Wrapped in a Hawaiian beach-theme, the custom-built Tikiz truck is decked out with traditional surfboard signage and décor. With a patented “Surv-Board™” dispenser, guests can customize their own fruit syrup creations. Each unit is based off all-new, heavy-duty and fuel-efficient Ford truck platforms that are built from the ground up with numerous custom components. For example, the self-contained water system and high-output batteries allow operators to produce more than 400 shaved ice servings per hour and eliminate the need of noisy generators so guests can enjoy the fun, tropical tunes.

Tikiz Shaved Ice & Ice Cream is available for birthday parties, fundraisers, school events, summer camps, daycares, youth sporting events, church functions, corporate events, carnivals, picnics, barbecues, movie nights, festivals and more. Tikiz also offers a FUNdraising program, donating 20 percent of the day’s sales back to the event or supporting cause.

Renzo said, “There are a lot of families in the area and one of the main reasons I chose to open my own Tikiz truck was so I could spend more time with mine. My kids Bruno and Tiaré are especially excited to tag along during the summer events and together with my wife Flor, we will be able to give back to the community that we have called home for so long.”
