Marco's Pizza Celebrates Teacher Appreciation Week

250,000 Free Pizza Certificates Given to Schools for Teachers

CLEVELAND - May 5, 2017 // PRNewswire // - Everyone can remember a teacher who made a difference in his or her life. During National Teacher Appreciation Week, May 8 -12, you can recognize your favorite teacher by posting a message to #ThankATeacher. Marco's Pizza is encouraging its customers to do the same, and is rewarding teachers for their hard work by distributing 250,000 Free Pizza Certificates to schools across the country.

Marco's is also giving teachers the chance to win a pizza party for their class, as well as the grand prize of $2,500 in Apple products or a trip for two to the Big Apple. The National PTA created Teacher Appreciation Week in 1985. It was based upon National Teacher Day, which was initiated by Eleanor Roosevelt in 1953, and proclaimed by the 81st Congress. The National Education Association moved the day to coincide with Teacher Appreciation Week, and this year Teacher Appreciation Day is May 9th.
