Lightbridge Academy’s Flexible Business Model Provides Franchisees and Families with an Exceptional Quality of Life

The brand’s system is designed to help everyone involved with a child’s life achieve the best balance between their personal and professional lives.

May 08, 2017 // Franchising.com // For the past 20 years, Lightbridge Academy has been setting the bar for excellence in the child care industry. Its signature Circle of Care philosophy is known for ensuring that everyone in a child’s life is taken care of and that their needs are met, ultimately enhancing the level of care that children receive. But Lightbridge Academy’s commitment to looking after everyone that enters its doors across its entire franchise system does more than positively impact children’s lives. It also provides a better quality of life for both parents and franchisees.

In addition to tapping into the potential behind an increasingly in-demand industry, Lightbridge Academy’s simple business model offers local owners the opportunity to achieve a balance between their personal and professional lives. With a business that doesn’t often involve late nights, weekends or holidays, the brand’s franchisees are able to make time for their friends and families outside of their centers.

The ability to work with a proven brand that also cares for its team members is what ultimately inspired Nicole Hulak and Vita Rizzo to open up their own Lightbridge Academy center in Freehold, New Jersey. The friends were impressed with the brand’s supportive environment, and knew that they wanted to be a part of it.

“What really drew us to Lightbridge Academy over other business ownership opportunities in the child care industry was the fact that it felt like a family. It was clear right off the bat that the brand’s core values meant something to every corporate team member and franchisee, and that its Circle of Care was at the center of its business model,” said Hulak. “Today, as franchisees, we can say that everything we learned about Lightbridge Academy during the discovery process has held up. The brand’s corporate support team has been there for us every step of the way, and they’ve been instrumental to our success so far.”

Hulak and Rizzo have found that being a part of Lightbridge Academy’s franchise system gives them the opportunity to make their own schedules. Hulak, a mother of twin boys, enjoys unparalleled access to her young children, who are enrolled in their Freehold center. As a busy working mother, having her children close by is a valuable added benefit of owning a Lightbridge Academy center.

“Between me, Nicole and our director, we have created an incredibly flexible schedule. We’ve essentially broken it down into three different shifts, which allows us to be with our families and children outside of Lightbridge Academy when we need to,” said Rizzo. “But even with this tailored schedule, our customers know that at least one of us will always be on site. That’s just another aspect of what makes Lightbridge Academy so special - we create relationships with everyone in a child’s life to ultimately provide a better quality of education and care.”

Beyond establishing personal relationships with parents and caregivers, Lightbridge Academy’s franchisees connect families with their children through technology. The brand’s ParentView internet monitoring system, for example, give parents the opportunity to view a live stream of their children in the classroom throughout the day. Lightbridge Academy’s staff members also communicate with families through its eCommunication app, which enables teachers to send photos, videos and other progress updates.

“By integrating technology into every one of our classrooms, we’re able to provide parents an unrivaled connection to their children throughout the day. That’s what makes Lightbridge Academy the perfect solution for working parents - our system is designed to foster open communication and relieve unnecessary stress,” said Brenda Febbo, chief marketing officer for Lightbridge Academy.

By creating a positive work-life balance for both families and franchisees, Lightbridge Academy is continuing its two-decade long tradition of raising the bar in the child care industry. And as more business owners introduce the concept to new communities, the brand is preparing for rapid growth in the months and years ahead.

“Being a Lightbridge Academy franchisee is an ideal investment for any parent. It gives you the opportunity to be a successful business owner without having to sacrifice time with your family, which creates the perfect work-life balance,” said Hulak. “Between the brand’s values and supportive systems, you can successfully grow and operate your business.”
