Popular Mediterranean Fast Casual Franchise Gyroville Introduces the Gyrodilla

Gyroville’s New Limited Time Offer Merges the Best of a Gyro and Quesadilla in a Bold Blend

May 12, 2017 // Franchising.com // BOCA RATON, Fla. - Gyroville is taking its popular gyro meat and giving it a new home - in a quesadilla. Southeast Florida’s go-to spot for build-your-own Mediterranean dishes has introduced the Gyrodilla, available at all locations for a limited time.

“We love putting a Mediterranean spin on popular dishes, and the Gyrodilla is how we envision the perfect combination of a gyro and quesadilla,” said Lambros Kokkinelis, founder and CEO of Gyroville. “Most would probably think that a Gyrodilla has tzatziki sauce, feta cheese, etc. - more of a typical gyro, but we took this a step further to create a bold marriage of flavors.”

The Gyrodilla starts with a tortilla that is dressed in barbecue sauce and sprinkled with white cheddar cheese. One side is then piled with shaved gyro meat, roasted corn salsa, grilled onions and fresh cilantro, and then is melted to perfection.

Gyroville jumped onto the fast-casual scene in 2010, offering a healthy Mediterranean menu developed by Kokkinelis, a classically trained chef. His modern spin on traditional Greek recipes has become a hit with customers with everything on the menu made in-house daily using fresh ingredients. Customers can customize their pita, salad or rice bowl to be as healthy as they wish by going through the build-your-own assembly line.

Domestically, the brand has locations in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale as well as restaurants slated to open this year in Orlando and Topeka, Kansas. The company expects to open six locations in 2017, along with adding another 12 signed franchise agreements to continue steady growth throughout the United States. Gyroville is seeking master franchise developers, multi-unit operators and owner-operators to continue its national expansion. In addition to national marketing promotions such as the Gyrodilla LTO, Gyroville franchisees benefit from national purchasing deals, streamlined operational processes within a fast-growing segment. Depending on size, location, etc., the average cost to open a Gyroville is around $250,000. The franchise is on the SBA registry and has equipment financing available through Marlin.
