Lease Signed on First of Five Locations Set to Open in Guatemala in Next Five Years; New Restaurant to Meet Local Demand for Healthy Alternatives in the Quick-Service Space

June 02, 2017 // Franchising.com // DAVIE, Fla. - Froots, a global quick-service franchise focused on healthy food and beverages, announced today the site of its first location in Guatemala. Owned and operated by local business partners Cristina Rozas, Juan Manuel Rodriguez, Alejandro Garcia and Maria Jose Enriquez, the new restaurant will be located at the C.C. Paris Plaza, situated at 20 Calle y 25 Ave. Z.10 in Guatemala City.

This development group is responsible for spearheading growth of the Froots brand throughout Guatemala, opening a total of five locations over the next five years.

“We learned about the brand when visiting South Florida and were immediately drawn in by the variety of healthy, delicious food options,” Rozas said, adding that she knew Guatemala would be the perfect market for the brand.

The new restaurant at C.C. Paris Plaza will be one of the first Froots locations to debut the brand’s new look and updated menu, which focuses on fresh, simple ingredients with an emphasis on flavor combinations. These new flavor profiles were created by combining fresh cut vegetables and herbs with tasty sauces and meats for a variety of wraps, paninis and salads. The updated look features a completely redesigned store model that creates a lively, fresh atmosphere aligned with the brand’s new green and orange color scheme. Light wood flooring is complemented by white brick walls and a variety of plants throughout the restaurant. Click here to view renderings of the new Guatemala City location.

“We are excited to bring Froots to Guatemala and debut one of the first locations with the new look and menu items,” Rozas added. “The new store design gives a crisp, clean and refreshing feel that’s synonymous to what Froots is known for – healthy options that are delicious and made from fresh, simple ingredients.”

Scott Mortier, EVP of Business Development at Froots, added, “A large, growing segment of the global population is more health conscious and aware of better eating habits, though have few choices when it comes to eating healthy on the go. Froots caters to this demographic by providing a healthy alternative to traditional fast food fare, and our growth is building as more investors look to enter this space with a proven business model in hand.”

Outside of the new location in Guatemala and its domestic presence, Froots has several restaurants throughout the Caribbean and South America, including stores in the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Mexico, Panama and Turks & Caicos. The company seeks entrepreneurs to continue developing the brand internationally as well as domestically in the United States.
