Cottage Inn Pizza Cuts Slice Out of the Southeast and Midwest in 2017, Priming Brand for Dynamic Growth in Third, Fourth Quarters
Storied Pizza Brand Continues to Increase Franchise Presence Through Strategic Growth Initiative
August 02, 2017 // Franchising.com // ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Pizza lovers around the nation, rejoice!
After a groundbreaking first half of 2017, Michigan’s own Cottage Inn Pizza announced today plans to accelerate its extensive growth initiative, eyeing a significant increase in its franchise presence through the end of the year.
“This year has been an incredibly inspiring time for Cottage Inn, and we are just a little past halfway through,” said Deborah Masse, Senior VP for Cottage Inn Pizza. “We are well on our way to reaching our growth targets and making our gourmet pizza the go-to slice in communities across the country, and especially in the Southeast and Midwest, by the end of 2017.”
Building upon a strategic plan released earlier this year to grow rapidly in Illinois, Ohio, Indiana and Tennessee with 10 new locations open or in development by the end of the year, the brand is set to increase the momentum of its franchise growth in the Midwest and beyond for its third and fourth quarters.
Cottage Inn began 2017 with four franchise locations open or in development in Berkley, Pigeon and New Hudson in Michigan, and in Greensboro, North Carolina. This growth comes as part of the fourth year of nearly 10 percent sales growth for same store sales and double-digit sales growth for all stores.
Building on the excitement, the brand has also announced a fresh new franchising concept slated to make its first appearance in New Hudson, Michigan before the end of the year: Cottage Inn Taverna.
Offering beer, wine and a selection of cocktails alongside its famous pizza in a cozy tavern-themed environment, Cottage Inn Taverna is a welcoming, family-oriented pizzeria where guests can enjoy a cold craft beer, a fine glass of wine or one of its featured cocktails, all while experiencing the fabulous array of pizzas that Cottage Inn has offered throughout the years.
“Cottage Inn Taverna is an exciting new addition to our brand, and it comes at a time as we’re gearing up to smash through our growth plans for 2017,” said Masse. “Our pizza is a mainstay of both college students and families in Michigan and with our steady expansion this year, and our new concepts including Cottage Inn Taverna, we’re on track to bring our brand to pizza lovers across the country.”
A longtime favorite of Michigan pizza fans, Cottage Inn Pizza’s impressive growth at the mid-year has brought its gourmet pies to more neighborhoods across the country. This expansion comes as the brand continues to grow internationally, with up to 200 locations slated to open in China over the next 15 years, joining an existing location in Qingdao and the more than 50 locations in Michigan, Ohio and North Carolina.
As the brand expands, it is awarding franchise opportunities to qualified individuals who are looking to join the Cottage Inn family. The investment required to open a Cottage Inn Pizza Franchise is between $200,000 and $350,000, which includes the initial franchise fee that grants a license to run a business under the Cottage Inn Pizza name. Cottage Inn offers a world-class training program and ongoing support to keep each store running successfully and smoothly.
