Rush Bowls Inks Six-Store Development Agreement

Healthy fast-casual chain set to expand with restaurants in Denver and Tempe

January 12, 2018 // Franchising.com // BOULDER, Colo. - Rush Bowls - a fast-casual restaurant chain known for its meals-in-a-bowl crafted from the finest fruit, topped with granola and honey, and blended with protein, vitamins and other nutritious ingredients - has signed a multi-unit franchise development deal for the brand’s first three restaurants in greater Tempe and three additional locations in Denver.

Coming on the heels of the Rush Bowls’ first franchisee-owned location opening in Nashville this July, the six-store agreement will bring three restaurants each to Denver and Tempe. The locations will be owned and operated by experienced entrepreneur Troy Leisenring. The first 1,211 square foot store will be located at 3581 East Harmony Road in Fort Collins, Colorado, and is expected to open early 2018.

Prior to teaming up with Rush Bowls, Leisenring was a fifth generation owner of the family Firestone store in Denver. In 1990, Leisenring went on to work as a sales representative for an oil company, before moving on to be a franchise consultant for Big O Tires, where he’s been for the past six years. A former University of Northern Colorado football player - where he met his wife, former University of Northern Colorado track runner and current elementary school teacher Leanna - a little league coach and a father to two kids, Leisenring is passionate about healthy living.

“Seeing the demand for a vibrant, health-focused, quick-service restaurant in Tempe, and knowing how much success Rush Bowls has experienced in fulfilling that need in greater Denver, it was an easy decision to partner with such a unique concept,” said Troy Leisenring. “I am so pleased to have the opportunity to bring Rush Bowls to Tempe, to continue building the brand in Denver, and to have the ability to connect with those in both communities who, like me, are passionate about healthy and delicious food.”

Founded in 2004, Rush Bowls offers meals crafted from all-natural fruit, topped with organic granola and honey, and blended with protein, vitamins and other nutritious ingredients that taste delicious while promoting a healthy lifestyle. Customers can choose from over 30 signature bowls or all-natural smoothies made with fruit, yogurt or acai.

Over the past 13 years, Rush Bowls has cultivated a loyal following with its menu specializing in healthy, all-natural, fruit-blended meals-in-a-bowl for those on the go. Bowls are also available in vegan, gluten-free, soy-free and dairy free options, and anything can be custom made to cater to any and all dietary needs.

“Our number one priority is 100 percent all-natural nutrition, which makes Rush Bowls different from smoothie concepts,” Pudalov added. “Our meals are crafted from the finest fruits and vegetables, we hand-grind our own peanut butter and make our jam in house; we do this to ensure the highest quality and taste for our customers.”

Pudalov added that the brand has nearly 40 Rush Bowls restaurants in various stages of development across 10 states, with numerous more in the pipeline throughout major markets across the U.S. Company plans call for having over 20 locations open by the end of 2018.
