Cookie Cutters Haircuts For Kids Nearly Doubles Footprint In 2017

Slated For Even Greater Growth In 2018

January 17, 2018 // Franchising.com // SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids recently closed out its most successful year to date. The Salt Lake City-based franchise - known for its in-store playgrounds, fantasy chairs, TVs and video games that put both kids and parents at ease - nearly doubled its national footprint in 2017.

In 2017, Cookie Cutters opened 26 new salons, an astounding 550% increase over the previous year. In addition, the brand signed 46 separate franchise agreements that will develop a total of 140 new salons over the next several years.

Today, there are 58 Cookie Cutters salons open an operating throughout 20 states and Canada.

"2017 was a record year for Cookie Cutters,” said CEO Neal Courtney, who acquired the brand in 2014 after years of serving as a multi-unit franchisee. “We have no doubt become the fastest growing children’s haircutting franchise in the country and have no plans of slowing down in 2018. We are thrilled to be welcoming so many new franchisees to the Cookie Cutters family and bringing our unique and interactive experience to even more families nationwide.”

Looking ahead to 2018, the company already has 30 new salons under construction, all of which are expected to open within the next four months. According to Courtney, at least 50 new locations are expected to open by the end of the year.

“Cookie Cutters fits a simple niche and fulfills a basic need of providing all children, including those with special needs or sensory issues, with a good haircut that is done in a comfortable setting and on trend,” said Courtney. “For potential business owners, the franchise provides a low cost of entry, a turnkey business model and the potential to provide a strong return on investment.”

Including a franchise fee of $40,000, the total investment to open a single unit Cookie Cutters salon is $90,500 to $261,000. Franchisees can add a second location for an additional $20,000 or three or more locations for an additional $10,000 each.
