Pilates ProWorks ‘Exercises’ New U.S. Franchise Expansion Strategy
Innovative Pilates-based Fitness Concept Targets Key Markets for Expansion
March 30, 2018 // Franchising.com // SAN FRANCISCO - Dedicated fitness enthusiasts across the world will soon find a new, dynamic group exercise routine stretching its way across America.
Pilates ProWorks, the boutique fitness studio concept known for its contemporary twist on traditional Pilates, announced today a newly sculpted franchising strategy that will expand its workout method into new key markets across the country.
“Since the day it came to fruition, Pilates ProWorks has stayed true to its mission in providing affordable access to high-energy, Pilates-based group fitness classes that engage the core, break the norm and foster a sense of community and camaraderie among our members,” said Oscar Sanin, founder and CEO of Pilates ProWorks. “Those are the exact elements of why our clients choose return to Pilates ProWorks for our classes and why the concept continues to see a growing demand for new studios on a global scale.”
In 2003, Sanin followed his doctor’s recommendation and began to practice traditional Pilates as an alternative solution to surgery for severe injuries he had sustained in a 1994 plane crash. Within one week, Sanin was astounded to see the immediate positive impact that Pilates yielded on his health. At the time, group Pilates classes were just starting to open up to the public and came with a very hefty cost for each class. After experiencing Pilates firsthand, Sanin soon realized the opportunity that lay before him to lead the charge on creating a new modern fitness movement based on traditional Pilates.
With the goal of making Pilates more accessible to all, Sanin worked closely with an architect and engineer to redesign his own version of the Pilates reformer machine to make it more adaptable and comfortable for people of all sizes and agility levels. After redesigning his equipment and developing a unique membership plan to lower the price point of classes, Sanin founded Pilates ProWorks in 2009 and opened the first studio in San Francisco’s Marina neighorhood. Its unique unlimited monthly membership was an immediate hit and led to two more studio openings that same year - another San Francisco studio as well as a location in Sanin’s hometown of Bogota, Colombia.
The brand began franchising in 2015 and has since successfully opened 15 more boutique studio locations worldwide, including 11 U.S. locations and five international studios, including its most recent studio opening in Shanghai. The brand already has plans in place to open its first Seattle location in 2018 and is targeting to sign 8 to 12 more franchise agreements in 2018 in areas such as Chicago, Washington D.C., Seattle, Florida and other ideal markets.
As the concept continues to prove to be a top contender among boutique fitness franchises, Pilates ProWorks is seeking qualified franchisees to grow its presence into more key metropolitan areas around the world. Ideal franchisees include entrepreneurs interested in hands-on business ownership and operation, as well as individuals who are well connected within their communities and who work well in group settings. Under strong ownership, the Pilates ProWorks franchise model provides franchisees with an impressive income opportunity, favorable unit economics, a vehicle on which they can improve their own health and wellness and provide a positive impact on the community.
