HobbyTown Taps Initiate-It for National Digital Ad Campaign

RVA-based firm lands account because of proven experience in franchising industry.

May 31, 2018 // Franchising.com // Richmond, Va. - HobbyTown, a national retailer with the largest network of locally-owned franchise hobby stores in the U.S., has partnered with Initiate-It, a digital advertising and branding firm headquartered in Richmond, Va., to create a strategic branding, co-op vendor program and digital advertising campaign designed to engage with consumers across the country.

Initiate-It’s expertise with national franchisers includes developing effective digital marketing and advertising solutions for Sandler Training, an international sales, leadership and management company with 250 offices around the world. According to Andrew Smith, president of Initiate-It, HobbyTown was impressed that Initiate-It had instituted a national advertising program within a well-established franchising system.

“We conducted an extensive branding study for HobbyTown during the fourth quarter of 2017,” said Smith. “As a result of that project and our proven experience in franchising, we were hired to plan and execute a digital advertising campaign that will introduce the HobbyTown brand to new customers and drive traffic to the retail stores. Our team is excited about helping a national hobby and toy retailer be successful in a tough, competitive environment.”

Smith shared that HobbyTown associates enjoy introducing people of all ages to games, modeling kits, drones, remote-controlled cars, trucks and planes, and many other cool toys that will capture their imaginations for a lifetime. “The store associates especially love watching kids have fun and they want every experience at HobbyTown to be magical,” he said. “Our mission is to connect HobbyTown with potential customers who may become avid hobbyists.”

Other regional and Richmond-based clients in Initiate-It’s portfolio include CarLotz, Virginia Green and Cirrus Vodka. For more information, visit initiate-it.com.
