Jasmin & Olivz’s Mediterranean menu is reminiscent of Said’s home country of Palestine. Each dish is the culinary creation of his beloved wife, whom he met after moving to the U.S. in 1978. He came to America to study electrical engineering and subsequently, earned a graduate degree in computer science before joining the ranks of one of the top global tech companies. A corporate career change and Said’s deep desire to share his culture through food inspired the couple’s first restaurant in 1995.

A decade later, they fine-tuned their concept, establishing intimate restaurant experiences in a mall food court and a pre-existing building vacated by a fast food chain. Neither locations were an ideal fit; however, so Said developed a solution using his engineering roots. He designed and built a better restaurant in Cary, North Carolina - an open kitchen in a fast-casual space that made fresh ingredients the star. Said’s attention to detail was reflected in the new store design, which complimented his staff’s need for ease and speed, his wife’s cooking philosophy, and the overall brand experience. From design to execution, the space remains Said’s flagship restaurant, flanked by five other highly successful locations in Cary, Morrisville and Raleigh.

With standout restaurant spaces near the campuses of Meredith College and North Carolina State University, Jasmin & Olivz is poised to duplicate its winning strategy on a broader scale as an attractive investment for franchisees.
