Rush Bowls Bringing Healthy Eating to the Buckeye State

September 06, 2018 // Franchising.com // GUNBARREL, Colo. - Rush Bowls - a fast-casual chain known for its meals-in-a-bowl crafted from the finest fruits and vegetables, topped with granola and honey, and blended with protein, vitamins and other nutritious ingredients - is coming to the capital of the Buckeye State, Columbus, Ohio.

Located at 264 W. Lane Ave., next to the Varsity Club across from the Ohio State University Campus, the store is slated to open in November 2018, and will be the first of at least three Rush Bowls locations to be owned and operated by Rush Bowls of Columbus. The group is targeting all of Columbus, with a strong focus on downtown and suburbs, such as Dublin.

“It’s clear that offering products that are healthy and taste great are important to maintaining good nutrition. Rush Bowls exceeds that criteria, which is why Columbus, Ohio, with a diverse demographic that mirrors the entire country, is the ideal location for Rush Bowls,” said John McDonald, a partner and owner of Rush Bowls of Columbus. “Millennials and Generation Z are leading the way in eating and living healthier. I’ve observed this trend with my own children, and we are confident that Ohio State students and fans are going to love Rush Bowls.”

An experienced investment banker, McDonald currently serves as the co-founder and senior managing director of Hyde Park Capital, a nationally-recognized investment banking firm focusing on mergers and acquisitions and capital raising for small to medium sized companies. McDonald has been a successful entrepreneur and businessman his entire life and entering the world of franchising is just a continuation of his desire to start and build great companies. With a strong passion for healthy living, he is excited to pursue the expansion of Rush Bowls into Ohio.

Founded in 2004, Rush Bowls offers meals crafted from all-natural fruit, topped with organic granola and honey, and blended with protein, vitamins and other nutritious ingredients that taste delicious while promoting a healthy lifestyle. Customers can choose from over 40 signature bowls or all-natural smoothies made with fruit and vegetable bases, including acai, kale and avocado.

“Our number one priority is 100 percent all-natural nutrition, which makes Rush Bowls different from other grab-and-go concepts,” Founder Andrew Pudalov noted. “Rush Bowls’ meals are crafted from the finest fruits and vegetables, with fresh toppings like organic granola, hand-grinded peanut butter and jam made in-house to ensure the highest quality and taste for our customers across multiple day parts.”

Over the past 14 years, Rush Bowls has cultivated a loyal following with its menu specializing in healthy, all-natural, fruit-blended meals-in-a-bowl for those on the go. Bowls are also available in vegan, gluten-free, soy-free and dairy free options, and anything can be custom made to cater to any and all dietary needs.
