SOLD! Tiny Home Auction Raises $47k for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals

Oklahoma Organization New Owner of the Tiny Home for Tiny Tots

September 07, 2018 // Franchising.com // DENVER – Going once, going twice… SOLD! The RE/MAX Tiny Home for Tiny Tots was purchased at auction this month by Shari and Scott Norvell of Bixby, Oklahoma, and the founders of Blue Flame Ministries.

After three days of bidding, the RE/MAX Tiny Home for Tiny Tots, a collaboration between RE/MAX and students at Henry Ford College who designed and constructed the home, was sold for $47,000 at auction with 100% of the proceeds going to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals).

“As the new owners of the Tiny Home for Tiny Tots, the Norvells have made a significant contribution to help sick and injured children across the U.S. and Canada,” said Mike Reagan, RE/MAX Senior Vice President, Business Alliances. “Our network of more than 120,000 RE/MAX agents know how to match their clients’ unique preferences to the perfect home and they were instrumental in helping us market the tiny home and make miracles happen for CMN Hospital patients.”

RE/MAX enlisted the Architecture/Construction Technology program at Henry Ford College in Dearborn, Michigan to design and build the tiny home. The 280 square-foot, 1-bed, 1-bath home was transported to Mounds, OK, just outside of Bixby, where the Norvells will use it to support their ministry. RE/MAX and creative agency partner Camp + King saw the opportunity to build a tiny home as a way to raise money for CMN Hospitals while promoting the benefits of homeownership for all styles and budgets.

“The sale of the Tiny Home for Tiny Tots will have a big impact on the more than 10 million children at 170-member hospitals across the U.S. and Canada,” said John Lauck, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals President and CEO. “Our more than 26-year partnership with RE/MAX has shown us that miracles come in all shapes and sizes – even in a tiny home -- and this contribution will help fill funding gaps in CMN Hospitals nationwide, helping to improve the lives of as many children as possible.”
