PrideStaff's Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief Campaign Recognized for Excellence in US Staffing Industry
September 17, 2018 // Franchising.com // PrideStaff, a national, franchised staffing organization, is pleased to announce that they received a 2018 American Staffing Association Genius Award honorable mention for Internal Publication (Digital) in the Staffing Firms With More Than $100 Million in Annual Sales class. This national awards program recognizes outstanding marketing, advertising, multimedia and public relations campaigns and products among ASA member staffing, recruiting and workforce solutions companies.
Orchestrated in the wake of one of the worst natural disasters in Texas' history, PrideStaff's Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief campaign raised money to assist internal PrideStaff associates, temporary field associates and local families hit with unexpected living expenses, displacement costs and property damage. PrideStaff setup a GoFundMe campaign to collect donations. They then developed a full campaign that included a national press release, fundraising email, social media campaign, and a video, to increase awareness and contributions.
The campaign was an enormous success, raising $23,000 in just 10 days. In addition to financial contributions, individual PrideStaff offices provided additional disaster relief support by: donating a portion of placement fees to hurricane relief efforts; temporarily staffing up a call center to expedite insurance claim processing; and orchestrating a communication program to check in on associates and provide retail gift cards.
"When Hurricane Harvey ravaged the Texas coast, it devastated areas where our internal and field associates live and work," said PrideStaff COO, Tammi Heaton. "We knew we needed to help, so we decided to coordinate a disaster relief campaign that raised both morale and money for individuals who were unable to earn a paycheck.
"The fact that we were an honorable mention for this campaign makes us extremely proud, of course," continued Heaton. "The real 'win' for PrideStaff, however, was rallying around displaced associates during a time of need.
