Legends Boxing Launches National Franchise Program, Looks To Open As Many As 20 New Gyms By 2021
September 25, 2018 // Franchising.com // LEHI, Utah - Legends Boxing has moved beyond the ring and entered the franchise world. The state-of-the-art boxing club and fitness franchise, currently with three successful gyms open and operating in Utah, has announced plans to expand its national footprint via franchising.
With 11 more gyms already in various stages of development, Legends Boxing expects to open as many as 20 new gyms over the next two years.
“Boxing’s growing popularity can be widely attributed to the highly advertised matches in Las Vegas and the crossover from members in other sports such as Mixed Martial Arts. However, boxing is not a new pastime, and its benefits have been world-renowned by the many who have competed and excelled,” said Andrew Scott, a two-time Golden Gloves boxing champion and co-founder of Legends Boxing. “We are pumped to take the Legends Boxing experience nationally and introduce even more people to our brand and franchise opportunity.”
Together with his brother, Rob, Andrew founded Legends Boxing in 2012 with the goal of providing a unique, fun and total-body workout, all while building self-confidence, offering a healthy stress outlet and teaching valuable skills that empower each and every member.
Led by USA Boxing trained coaches and trainers, Legends Boxing offers a fun and challenging alternative to traditional fitness gyms. The fitness programs are designed for any fitness level and include step-by-step classes that guide members through the basics of boxing, including proper footwork, punching techniques, and self-defense. Total-body exercises such as jumping rope, push-ups, squats and working the heavy bag are also incorporated to each, new daily workout.
“Our goal is to stray away from the intimidation factor of traditional fitness gyms. Whether it’s the rows and rows of confusing equipment or the lack of an inclusive, team-oriented atmosphere, we offer something new - a program where each daily workout is different and exhilarating, where each member could rely on personal help and direction,” said Andrew, who created the workouts from his extensive years of boxing and physical training. “If you’re tired of treadmills and weight rooms and have been eyeing the gloves with curiosity, come check us out.”
The company’s national expansion plans come at a time when more and more people consider physical fitness a top priority and are seeking exciting, new ways of getting in shape. As a result, smaller gyms such as Legends Boxing, touting high service on a focused fitness area, are gaining popularity faster than ever before. In fact, according to several studies, the percentage of people using boutique fitness gyms has risen steadily to claim 21% of the $24+ billion U.S. fitness industry in the past five years alone. Since 2010, the number of boutique studios has gone up 400%.
“As you can see, the demand is already enormous and it’s only growing larger,” said Rob. “Now is the perfect time to own a Legends Boxing franchise, as there is ground-floor opportunity for a proven, yet still-emerging category, and the best part is: the prime territories are still available, so you can own Legends Boxing gyms in areas that are destined to be successful. We are looking for qualified franchisees that are interested in running an exclusive club while providing their members with a state-of-the-art experience."
To augment the company’s growth, Legends Boxing is seeking both single- and multi-unit franchisees interested in joining a team-oriented environment, with a passion for health and training. Including a franchise fee of $49,000, the initial investment to open a 3,000-3,500 square foot gym ranges from $276,852 - $472,128.
