HydroDog Announces Aggressive Growth Plan for New England

On Heels of Bathe to Save Events, Grooming Franchise Looks to bring more than 590 Big Blue Dogs to Six States

September 27, 2018 // Franchising.com // BOSTON - Big blue dogs will soon be roaming the streets of Boston, Providence, Bridgeport and other New England cities. HydroDog, a dog grooming salon on wheels, is targeting New England for franchise growth. With the abundance of dog owners in the area, the popular Australian franchise has announced it is looking to open upwards of 500 mobile units in the region.

Founded by Australian entrepreneur Anthony Amos, HydroDog is best known for its exceptional dog grooming services ranging from conventional to luxurious, all offered inside the “big blue dog,” a fully-functional, fiberglass, dog grooming salon on wheels. Amos is looking for six Area Developers to have a role in franchise expansion throughout Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.

To jump start the brand’s franchise opportunity, Amos and his team are hosting a Discovery Day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday October 30 at the Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center in Boston. At this event, budding entrepreneurs can learn about the HydroDog opportunity and meet with Amos. The mobile franchise is looking for qualified franchisees and Area Representatives who bring business savvy, a love of dogs, and are eager to bring the concept to their town. Franchisees and Area Representatives will be provided with superior support in training, marketing and business development.

“As one of the nation’s most economically developed and densely populated areas, New England is an exciting development region for HydroDog,” said Amos. “With territories open throughout New England, we look forward to meeting with local business and community leaders who are interested in bringing this necessary service to their region. With their help, pet parents throughout New England will quickly find out that there is not a more convenient or talented dog grooming service than HydroDog.”

Targeted markets where the brand will grow in Connecticut include Bridgeport, New Haven, Stamford, Hartford and Waterbury. In Massachusetts, key development areas include Boston, Worcester, Cambridge and Springfield. Additional markets the brand is focusing its growth efforts on are Portland, Maine; Manchester, New Hampshire; Providence, Rhode Island and Burlington, Vermont. Additionally, in 2018 Amos is looking to expand from New England to state like Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota, Michigan, South Carolina and Pennsylvania.

In addition to revving up franchise growth, Amos and his family – his wife Rachel, and their three children, Bella, Austin and Aria – have spent the past 16 months road tripping across the country for the Bathe to Save tour. They are visiting shelters in 50 states and 150 cities to raise awareness and funds for animal rescue sites. The goal from the beginning has been to save lives of shelter dogs by raise awareness for animal rescue and adoption, and the family has washed thousands of dogs so far. Prior to the Discovery Day in Boston, there are six Bathe to Save events across New England throughout the month of October.

“We have a rescue dog ourselves and our family is so passionate for all shelter dogs across America. We hope our new franchisees will continue to work with shelters in their area and help save lives by raising awareness for animal rescue,” said Amos. “We have systems already in place for our owners to cultivate a strong relationship with Wahl Pets and The Greater Good so they too can bring Bathe to Save to their corner of the country. As an example to rest of the franchise system, every October HydroDog will again partner with Subaru of New England for Pet Month.”

About HydroDog

HydroDog was founded when Anthony Amos, an Australian rugby player, decided to use his down time to start his own business. At 21 he and he founded the mobile dog grooming business. He quickly turned to franchising to meet the high demand the business experienced. Within five years of offering the business as a franchise, Hydrodog had grown to over 100 franchises across Australia. Now, the brand is expanding the revolutionary dog grooming franchise to the United States with its fiberglass mobile grooming salon in the shape of a big blue dog.
