Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning Donates Over $70,000 to Water.org Over Three-Year Partnership

October 26, 2018 // Franchising.com // LAKEWOOD, Colo. - This month marks the 3-year partnership between Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning and Water.org. Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning, one of the nation’s fastest-growing and greenest carpet cleaning franchises, has supported Water.org’s efforts to end the global water crisis. Over the past three years, Oxi Fresh has donated over $70,000 to the cause.

Since announcing its support of Water.org in October 2015, Oxi Fresh customers have been encouraged to book their carpet cleanings online, with a portion of each job being donated to Water.org. Thus far, 54,792 jobs have been booked online and have contributed to the donation efforts. The proceeds go towards Water.org’s mission to help the 844 million people worldwide who do not have access to safe water and sanitation. According to Water.org’s website, $60 helps provide safe water to one family (4.75 people). With the total amount Oxi Fresh has donated, the carpet cleaning franchise has helped provide safe water for 1,167 families so far.

“Having clean accessible water is a resource that many take for granted,” said Oxi Fresh founder and CEO Jonathan Barnett. “We have an opportunity to improving the lives of the billions of people we share a planet with. We couldn’t be prouder of our contribution to providing basic human necessities and enabling a life of health and dignity to the world’s most vulnerable.”

The importance of water is nothing new to Oxi Fresh. In fact, water conservation has been one of the carpet cleaning company’s highest priorities since its inception in 2006. Oxi Fresh uses a low-moisture cleaning method that requires only 5 percent of the water used by other carpet cleaners.

“We at Oxi Fresh have always been committed to water conservation. For every home cleaned, our carpet cleaning franchises only uses 2 gallons of water while other systems use up 40-60 gallons. That’s about 95 percent more water saved compared to other cleaners – a perfect example of water conservation in action,” added Barnett.

“It’s shocking to me that more people have a mobile phone than a toilet. 844 million people lack access to safe water. Yet, water is crucial to life - we would not exist without it, we cannot survive without it and we cannot hope to thrive without safe, clean access to it,” Barnett said. “In only three years we have been able to help 1,167 families and have no plans of stopping.”
