Home Franchise Concepts Unveils Plans to Ignite the Industry in 2019

  • Leading franchising system in the home improvement space will focus on Smart Home, technology, marketing and customer care in 2019
  • Franchisor adds AdvantaClean to its growing family of brands that includes Budget Blinds, Tailored Living and Concrete Craft

January 23, 2019 // Franchising.com // IRVINE, Calif. - After hitting 1,500 territories operating in more than 11,000 cities throughout North America, what do you possibly do for an encore?

If you’re Home Franchise Concepts (HFC), one of the world’s largest franchising systems in the home improvement goods and services space, you go even bigger with new franchised brands, an expanded focus on Smart Home and other technology, customer and franchisee care, and a company-wide commitment to caring and giving back across North America.

The Irvine, Calif.-based franchisor of Budget Blinds®, Tailored Living® and Concrete Craft® is projecting record franchise territories and sales in 2019 and a most-ever number of installations across its three signature brands at an accelerated pace of more than 60,000 homes per week.

Earlier this month, HFC announced it added AdvantaClean®, one of the nation’s leading franchised providers of restoration services, to its growing family of brands - a move that extends HFC’s footprint and commitment to North American homeowners to more than 1,700 franchise territories operating in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

The positive developments, along with the latest new products, programs and customer- and franchisee-directed initiatives, were unveiled last week by Shirin Behzadi, CEO of Home Franchise Concepts, during Ignite, the 2019 International Convention for Budget Blinds, Tailored Living and Concrete Craft franchisees in Orlando. Representing the first time that franchisees from all three HFC brands met together, the four-day event drew more than 2,000 business owners, employees, partners and vendors.

Ignite is both a celebration of how far we’ve come and a realization of just what’s possible for one of the world’s largest franchising systems in the home improvement goods and services space,” said Behzadi. “Once again, we’re investing in the people, programs, products, services and proven brands that will allow us to not only continue to lead the industry in 2019 and beyond but strengthen our collective commitment to caring for our customers, communities and each other.”

According to Behzadi, Budget Blinds, Tailored Living and Concrete Craft products were installed in an average of 60,000 North Americans homes per week in 2018 - a company and industry record that HFC expects to surpass in 2019 thanks to growth in the three brands and the acquisition of AdvantaClean.

Behzadi told franchisees that HFC will focus on four key program and product areas in 2019:

HFC Smart Home Collection

Ignite attendees were the first to hear about the HFC Smart Home Collection, a series of integrated partnerships between Budget Blinds, Tailored Living, Concrete Craft and a suite of best-in-class product and technology providers that will keep HFC at the forefront of total-home automation.

Budget Blinds and Tailored Living customers in 2019 can take advantage of the latest product advances in home automation, motorization and smart-garage technology, and can even retrofit their existing window coverings. Concrete Craft customers can also look forward to smart home offerings specifically targeting outdoor living.

The new suite of services is consistent with research showing that 46.1 million U.S. households - or 34.9 percent of total households - will adopt some level of home automation by 2020, with security, energy management, lighting and window control topping the list of homeowner concerns.

Marketing and Media

HFC will build on its marketing and media successes in 2018 to launch an even larger, more integrated marketing vision for 2019 featuring separate, year-long programs directed at Budget Blinds, Tailored Living and Concrete Craft customers. This will include an expanded paid media plan encompassing TV, digital and social media plus dedicated PR, blogger and social influencer efforts.

The Latest Technology

To support the external marketing push, HFC also unveiled Touchpoint™, a best-in-class digital sales and operations platform for brand-specific franchisees and sales associates. The industry-leading platform will ensure even closer collaboration between Budget Blinds, Tailored Living and Concrete Craft business owners, sales staff and HFC representatives to achieve even higher levels of customer care.

Customer Care

“We never lose sight of the fact that 60,000 customers invite us into their homes and businesses every week,” said Behzadi. “That makes our brands and local businesses very personal for both our franchise owners and their customers - and gives us the unique opportunity to put our five core values of trust, collaboration, transparency, commitment and, especially, caring, into action every day.”

Based on a long-term commitment of caring for its customers, employees and franchisees, and the hundreds of thousands of lives and communities that each of these groups touch, HFC unveiled an expansion of its company-wide “Heart & Home” program which includes ongoing partnerships with Homes for Our Troops, Wounded Warriors Canada and Working Wardrobes.

“The fact that caring and giving back have been in our DNA since the beginning allows us to experience firsthand the link between doing good and doing well,” she said.

Behzadi also announced the recipients of the 2019 Heart & Home Awards and Budget Blinds Cares Awards.
