Orangetheory Fitness Named to Fast Company's Annual List Of The World's Most Innovative Companies for 2019

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Feb. 20, 2019 // PRNewswire // - Orangetheory Fitness has been named to Fast Company's prestigious annual list of the World's 50 Most Innovative Companies for 2019.

The list honors the businesses making the most profound impact on both industry and culture, showcasing a variety of ways to thrive in today's volatile world. Half of the companies on this year's MIC 50 list are appearing for the first time.

"Orangetheory Fitness is honored to be included in Fast Company's list of the Most Innovative Companies, and we are proud to stand alongside the other companies in the wellness category. Through our continued technological innovations, Orangetheory is providing our members with even more personalization in the studio, along with an unparalleled standard of health and fitness leading to a longer, more vibrant life," said Dave Long, Orangetheory Fitness co-founder and CEO.

One of the key innovations that sits right at the heart of the Orangetheory Fitness experience is OTbeat - the company's proprietary heart-rate monitoring technology. With OTbeat, members have the unique experience of seeing real-time data during their workout, which motivates them to push themselves to new limits. After class, members can continue to monitor their progress through emailed results and the Orangetheory app. Members can also use the app to set personal workout goals, join challenges, book their next workout and view current, weekly and monthly performance summaries.

Orangetheory has also released a new heart-rate monitor and the updated OTconnect, a proprietary platform that creates a one-of-a-kind fitness experience by allowing members to seamlessly capture data like never before - total distance, average/max incline, max miles per hour, total moving time and more.

With the updated technology, Orangetheory continues to put the member at the forefront by providing them with not just key data and metrics, but results. Through technology, great coaching and a strong community, Orangetheory has made it easy for anyone at any fitness level to succeed and achieve results. Highly trained coaches lead the class and ensure each member is getting the most out of their workout - whether that means providing options to each exercise or encouraging members to push a little harder. And by having the same workout at every studio every day, Orangetheory provides a sense of community not just in individual studios, but across the globe.

This year, Fast Company's editors and writers sought out groundbreaking businesses across 35 industries and every region. They also judged nominations received through their application process.

The World's Most Innovative Companies is Fast Company's signature franchise and one of its most highly anticipated editorial efforts of the year. It provides both a snapshot and a road map for the future of innovation across the most dynamic sectors of the economy.

"Established players are showing the same kind of nimbleness that we've generally associated with startups," said Fast Company deputy editor David Lidsky, who oversaw the issue with senior editor Amy Farley.

Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies issue (March-April 2019) is now available online at https://www.fastcompany.com/MIC, as well as in app form via iTunes and on newsstands beginning February 27th. The hashtag is #fcmostinnovative.
