Coming Full Circle: Former Kumon Student Opens Own Kumon Franchise After Experiencing the Benefits of the Program

Kumon Math and Reading Center of Naples - North Now Taking Enrollments

July 17, 2019 // Franchising.com // NAPLES, Fla. - Katherine Pryce had a dream of a career in hospitality management. With a bachelor’s degree in hospitality, she spent the early part of her career as a hotel front desk manager but felt like something was missing. Wanting to do more with her professional career, she recalled the time spent providing educational opportunities to students from low income households as an active volunteer in the greater New Orleans school district while she attended Tulane University. That renewed inspiration motivated her to take the leap of faith and open Kumon Math and Reading Center of Naples - North.

Pryce isn’t new to Kumon though. In fact, she was first introduced to the franchise when her parents enrolled her in the math and reading program when she was 10 years old. Throughout her academic and professional career, she always recalled her experience as a Kumon Student and the positive impact it made. She will provide a rare perspective for her future Kumon Students.

“As a former Kumon Student, I had the opportunity to experience the benefits of the Kumon Method first-hand,” said Pryce, owner and Instructor of Kumon Math and Reading Center of Naples - North. “Kumon is unique as it develops students into self-learners - a skill that will be used their whole life. I want to give the children of the Naples community the same opportunity I had as a child.”

The Kumon Method empowers preschool to high school aged children to become self-learners and is designed to advance math and reading skills while fostering a love for learning. It goes beyond traditional tutoring by actively developing critical thinking skills as children progress independently through a carefully crafted curriculum. “Kumon taps into the potential of each child’s abilities, and it extends beyond the classroom,” said Pryce. “I want to harness Kumon’s mission, and make an impact on the young minds in my community.”

Kumon sparks critical thinking, establishes a pattern of success and builds confidence that can lead to accelerated learning throughout life. Learn more about the Kumon Method today.
