Buff City Soap Adds Second Murfreesboro Location
Lifestyle brand continues explosive growth in its home state; will have 14 total stores in the Volunteer State.
December 03, 2019 // Franchising.com // Memphis, Tenn. - Buff City Soap – the Southern-based lifestyle brand changing the way people buy their everyday soap by providing plant-based alternatives – opened a second Murfreesboro store on November 29. The brand opened up its first Murfreesboro store earlier this year in January.
The new store will be located at 2615 Medical Center Parkway, Suite 1500. Buff City Soap has made a name for itself through the use of its in-store Makeries, which allow customers to customize their own personal soap. The stores also house a retail section where consumers can buy bath bombs, face scrubs, beard balms and other bath and skin-care products. This is the third of five Buff City Soap locations for franchisee Trent Sullivan, who also owns the original Murfreesboro store and the Jackson location. Though addresses have yet to be announced, Sullivan is eyeing the downtown district of Franklin and the Cool Springs area as possible destinations for his remaining two stores.
“I’m excited to bring another Buff City Soap location to Murfreesboro,” Sullivan said. “Buff City is more than just a retail soap store, it is an experience. When people walk through our doors, they get to see the passion and care we put into Buff City Soap products, and that is something we take immense pride in. I can’t wait for more people in the Murfreesboro area to be able to experience Buff City Soap.”
Buff City Soap was founded in 2013 when Brad Kellum, a former firefighter paramedic discovered that his every day store-bought soap was packed with cow fat and other synthetic materials. He, along with his fiancé and cofounder Jennifer Ziemianin, a registered nurse, began experimenting with a plant-based alternative in their garage.
Now, the brand offers traditional soap bars, along with a men’s care product line, plant-based laundry soap, skin-care products and other accessories. Each shop includes a Makery, where customers can select their ingredients and watch employees handcraft their soap. Furthering its customization promise, the shops host birthday parties, bachelorette nights and other events, and launched a subscription box service.
“We take pride in finding the perfect franchise partners who will bring Buff City Soap to their communities,” stated CEO Justin Delaney. “It is very fulfilling to watch Trent’s stores grow and his business flourish. He has been instrumental in growing the brand’s Tennessee footprint and introducing more people to Buff City Soap and we appreciate all his hard work.”
Buff City Soap has 28 locations open in nine states, including Tennessee, Texas, Arkansas, Kentucky, Colorado, Alabama, Mississippi and Florida. There are currently over 40 additional stores in various stages of development.
