Dale and Sheryle Gates Bring Real Estate and Certified Aging-in-Place Experience to New Business

Caring Transitions OKC West & Canadian County

OKLAHOMA CITY (PRWEB) January 07, 2020 - Experienced transition specialists and real estate professionals Dale and Sheryle Gates are pleased to announce the launch of their new business – Caring Transitions of OKC West & Canadian County.

This older-adult focused relocation and estate-clearing company serves Oklahoma City West, Suburban Northside, Warr Acres, Bethany, Mustang, Yukon, Canadian County and the surrounding areas. Caring Transitions’ are full-solution professionals that handle planning, decluttering, organizing, packing, move management and resettling services for anyone moving or down/right-sizing. Additional services include the sale of unwanted items through estate sales and CT-BIDS online auctions as well as preparing homes for market.

“A few years ago, we helped my parents through several down/right-sizing moves. That experience helped us realize there were many people in need of a compassionate and competent full-service company to help older-adults and their families through the difficult life-transition of moving and downsizing,” Dale said.

“Dale’s parents live 1,950 miles away and, when the time came for us to return home, they still needed a lot of help, we knew we were leaving them without a support system. Like many families who live far apart from each other, we didn’t have anyone we could trust to help them with the many tasks that were still left. It’s painful to not be able to help your loved ones when they need you. It’s our goal and desire to have Caring Transitions fill that gap for families with loved ones in our community,” Sheryle added.

“In the following months, we decided to apply our years of real estate and construction management experience helping seniors who, due to failing-health, or to be close to family, needed to move. We started by providing downsizing, home preparation and realtor services to sell the property. This led to us buying their homes, and in some cases, they were fully furnished with all personal contents, which meant we had to clear the home prior to performing Aging-in-Place design renovations and selling the property. But doing all the work without the support of a network of specialists meant we were working 70-80 hours a week and that wasn’t sustainable. Although helping people through this life-challenge was very rewarding, we had to find a new and better way through qualified and compassionate people. That’s what led us to Caring Transitions.” Dale said.

Caring Transitions’ turn-key-services are the perfect solution for anyone thinking of down/right-sizing or moving. All services options are customizable starting with an open discussion assessment to understand the client’s goals and then an agreed action-plan of solutions that best fits their needs. Services include; planning, managing and assisting with the process to provide a safer living situation, as well as for busy families and people clearing out the home of a loved one who has moved into assisted care or passed away.

Sheryle has been a flight attendant for 32 years and has been a licensed real estate agent – first in Texas and in Oklahoma – since 2014 where she is a Realtor with Metro First Realty. Dale built his career as a business leader and consultant, held senior management positions in various industries and has been the owner and president of Gateway Development Resources, Inc., for the last 25 years. Dale has managed special projects, built and guided business plans, led concept-to-completion real estate development projects and conducted extensive research on universal design housing. Most recently, Dale and Sheryle worked together providing seniors Aging-in-Place and down/right-sizing consultations, home preparation and realtor services to sell their property.

Sheryle and Dale are both Certified Aging-in-Place Specialists (CAPS) and Sheryle also has her Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES) certification.

“When we were buying, renovating and selling homes before Caring Transitions, we focused on working with an older clientele. In fact, about 80 percent of our clients were over the age of 70. We knew because of our experience that older adults and their families, even when they wanted to move, were overwhelmed by the magnitude of such an undertaking. They just didn’t know where to start or what to do with all of the stuff they didn’t need anymore. When you hire Caring Transitions, we bring in a trained-team to learn about your goals for the transition, create a plan to help you achieve those goals and then execute the plan for you,” Dale said.

“Life and its given time are valuable. We are hoping that, by working with Caring Transitions, families can spend more quality time together. You can make a lot of memories while going through a transition - and they can be good memories. Let us take the stress and frustration out of the process,” Sheryle said.
