Wag N’ Wash Natural Pet Food & Grooming Moves Into 2020 with Notable Achievements

January 10, 2020 // Franchising.com // CENTENNIAL, Colo. - As 2020 kicks off, Wag N’ Wash Natural Pet Food & Grooming is reflecting on the noteworthy moments that shaped the brand’s successful year in 2019 - from celebrating its 20th anniversary and adding executive team members to launching new operational tools and reaching fundraising milestones.

Throughout the past several months, Wag N’ Wash welcomed key team members to its corporate headquarters including Vice President of Marketing Kristen Wellen, Senior Marketing Manager Amanda Moore and District Manager Brooklynn McMurray. With the added talent, Wag N’ Wash rolled out a new email marketing platform and introduced a new social media management tool, both of which have been a valuable investment to bolster the brand’s marketing efforts systemwide.

Among these developments, Wag N’ Wash generated double digit same store sales growth and celebrated many notable franchise locations wins including the Phoenix store’s 30% increase in year over year sales and the Queen Anne store’s roll out of online ordering.

Collectively, Wag N’ Wash also found opportunities to make the world a better place. Coming off of its most recent national fundraising campaign for Freedom Service Dogs, the brand’s loyal customers, employees and supporters raised upwards of $17,000 for the nonprofit organization. All proceeds contributed to Freedom Service Dogs’ mission of helping veterans who have made life-altering sacrifices unite with service dogs from the program. This year, the International Franchise Association (IFA) recognized Wag N’ Wash’s inspiring efforts for this campaign with a “Support Our Veterans” award during its industry-renowned Franchising Gives Back ceremony.

"In our 20th year of business, we’ve made a number of exciting developments that are taking Wag N’ Wash to the next level…but we’re still staying rooted in who we are,” said Rob Flanagan, president of Wag N’ Wash Natural Pet Food & Grooming. “With each innovative tool we introduce to our franchise owners or improvements we make in stores, our end goal is always to enhance the bond between companion pets and their guardians. It’s humbling, yet rewarding to know our efforts have a tremendous ripple effect on our entire organization, and we’re looking forward to another memorable year.”

Looking ahead, the specialty pet retailer is continuing to grow its footprint with qualified franchise owners who have the ambition and skillset to succeed with the company. In the coming months, the brand is expected to open its newest location in Northeast Dallas with new franchise operator Tom Dang. Also to come, Wag N’ Wash is launching a new website, enhancing the customer experience and providing a more hyper-localized online presence for each Wag N’ Wash store.

Since Wag N’ Wash opened its first store in Colorado Springs in 1999, the company has been the leading place for pet guardians to find quality goods and services for their companion pets and simply be pet people. It is the only pet retailer that offers a self-wash station, full-service grooming, a bakery and pet food. In addition, the store’s offerings include various brands of all-natural pet foods for dogs and cats, supplements, collars and leashes, toys, supplies and unique goods.
