Schlotzsky’s Coronavirus Consumer Notification

March 27, 2020 // //

ATLANTA - MARCH 21, 2020

Dear Valued Guests,

Ensuring the health and safety of our guests, team members and community is our top priority, and we are working closely with our franchisees to navigate this unprecedented time. We have already put into place heightened cleaning procedures and various operational changes, including increased frequency of cleaning and extra support behind takeout and delivery. Our kitchens/bakeries are open and ready to serve you! Order ahead via online or through the Schlotzsky’s app for pickup or 3PD delivery, so you can get your favorite meal anytime − especially in states where dine-in may not be an option.

At Schlotzsky’s, we are laser focused on safety, speed, ease and accessibility to make sure our guests feel welcome every day of the week and regardless of how they receive their food, whether it’s takeout, delivery or dine-in. As the situation with COVID-19 evolves, we may implement additional operational changes and sanitation procedures to ensure the wellbeing of people we care about the most – you, your families and team members across the globe. This includes modified hours and an emphasis on to-go services.

We are also closely monitoring state and local actions aimed at slowing the progression of the virus, and this includes mandatory closures of some businesses. Restaurants are considered an essential business, and are permitted to offer take-out, curbside pick-up, delivery and drive-through services. We are, of course, asking employees who are sick to stay home, cleaning our locations numerous times per day and following Centers for Disease Prevention and Control guidelines.

Protecting the health and wellbeing of our employees is very important to us. We value all our team members, and for all corporate employees and company-owned locations, we are offering an employee relief program. This will supplement an employee’s pay if they experience the inability to work due to business disruption that causes their work location to temporarily close. We are reassuring our employees that they don’t have to come to work if they are uncomfortable and believe our independently owned franchisees are doing the same.

In addition, we and our franchisees are working to support our communities through donations. These heartwarming efforts have included free lunches to children who rely on school meal programs to providing free juices and smoothies to medical staff who are providing care for those affected by COVID-19.

In these trying times, we are working daily to make the best decisions we can for our guests, franchisees and team members. Thank you for your continued support of our brand.
